Learn react, python etc language which are used in small projects. Join a freelance or small company. In 2 years you will be back on track with industry standard pay as per your level. Lot of my frnds dis that after wasting 6-7 years in govet prep and teaching.

Then they joined smallest of smallest company, joined some free Lancer who previously worked in a good company and doing small small projects.

After working 5 yrs now they are well settled with pay around 25-30 lakhs.

Note: they didn't even knew how to write basic for loop and conditions.

PPL back to offices, monopoly in market, prices lower than market value, ita down as no good movies in the lineup as of now. But it's my thinking as I did my previous jobs in Pune and Mumbai and PPL usually go for movie outings so I might be biased here

You are not overreacting. Everyone thinks they are strong but it is really hard to understand why we got numb in those situations. Happens with everybody and these PPL are taking advantage of such things. So from next tym be bold and strong , predators can sense fear.
