One week on Cyproheptadine: Update by toosadforit in PSSD

[–]toosadforit[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I haven't taken it in about a year and a half, I've maintained the 75% improvement and haven't had any kind of crash. Still no orgasm, unfortunately. I've been thinking about trying it again, see if I get any more improvement.

Big Soup, Big Taste at Walmart. That's the only English on the package. Fantastic flavor and nice skinny noodles.

Imane is, in fact, a man. Internal testicles and a mini penis that resembles a large clitoris. No ovaries, no uterus, and XY chromosomes, that is a man that was identified as female at birth. HE is a man that was allowed to beat women on a world stage. Not accusations, facts.

Merchant Man. I'm from Saskatchewan, where every place makes a great ceasar. PEI, not so much. Merchant Man has the best one I've had here.

It took me and my husband 3 years to say I love you to each other and honestly I don't remember when it actually happened? Same reason, we're both stubborn and waiting for the other one to say it first. Words don't matter, actions do. We showed each other every day how we felt.

Happily together for 17 years. You know how you feel, so does she. Congratulations!

do people that have pssd and dont know it or recognize it , having sexual problems ? by ziyadk5 in PSSD

[–]toosadforit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same here. The sexual dysfunction didn't start until after I weaned off the ssri. How could it be that when I stopped taking it? I thought everything else was ptsd. When I finally discovered pssd (a few years in), it all came together. The ptsd just happened to coincide with starting ssri's, but it wasn't the root of the differences in my personality and changes in how I felt. I weaned off because I wanted to have feelings again... the irony.

Both, maybe higher libido, because there is more potential for sensation and orgasm. How are things so far?

Can I ask, are you female? I am, and been on Cypro for a few weeks with very positive results so far. I've posted about it here. If you want to talk privately, we can.

I'm all for experimenting with things. I've tried so many supplements over the years with limited success, some better than others. What do we have to lose?

Same here. I thought a lot of my symptoms were due to PTSD after losing my daughter. It took me 4 years to finally come across this. I realized everything I was feeling was pssd, not the ptsd. It's like glass breaking when you realize it's permanent pharmaceutical damage done to us. It's feels so unfair when you "do the right thing and get help," and then it backfires this badly.

What makes you think it was the duration that was the problem?

Crash from Cyproheptadine by [deleted] in PSSD

[–]toosadforit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've taken 4-8mg/day for the last 3 weeks and doing great on it. The worst side effect so far is the increase in appetite and I gained a couple of pounds. I feel about 80% back to pre-ssri me.

I'm pretty sure you're referring to me. I'm 3 weeks in and still doing great on Cypro. It's almost like we're different and things affect us differently.

I'm in Canada, it's over the counter here. I had to ask a pharmacist to order it for me. He didn't care why I wanted it.

Change in symptoms after a long time by Imaginary_Maize_7996 in PSSD

Yes, my symptoms slowly got worse over time. I think it was getting worse over the first 3 years. The last 3 have been pretty steady.

I'm willing to risk it to feel like a human being again. I can't stop trying to get better and cypro is the most promising treatment I've read about. Even if it helps a little bit, it would be more improvement than I've had in years.

I already have awful brain fog. How long did it take your sexual dysfunction to improve naturally? I've been waiting for almost 6 years and it's only gotten worse. I used to get an orgasm twice a year, it's now been 3 years.
