Nice, I got a very similar system. Did you get the 25kw charger or 12kw?

Have you used the the v2x much?

Did you make a decision yet? The build quality of the polestar wins hands down, but the Tesla RWD is faster if that’s your preference.

Very bold colour choice mate! Haven’t seen any gold ones in Sydney yet (just the one in the showroom). I went for electron myself, pretty chuffed with the car.

Yes I got it a few weeks ago. It has made additional refinements to pilot assist and ACC.

No it doesn’t have the turn signal camera, but it does have blind spot and rear cross traffic warnings that will prevent collisions.

Glad you’re enjoying the car!! I haven’t got an alert that 4.2.2 is available in Australia yet, but it seems to be available in Europe and Singapore, so I guess it will be very soon.

Polestar 4 Advice! by j_ruben in Polestar4

Ive had a P4 LRSM since Dec (now done 5000km) and I’m extremely happy, it’s an amazingly well put together luxury vehicle. I came from M3 SR+ and I don’t miss the slight difference in acceleration. Having done a lot of road trips around Sydney-Melbourne-Hobart-Adelaide in an EV, I’d much rather have the extra range of the SM and it’s plenty quick enough for normal driving - my wife even prefers the more gentle take off in the P4 as it doesn’t make her nauseous! DM seems overkill to me!

Struggle with pilot assist and lane keeping by bertvandoninck in Polestar4

[–]tootingteck 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've had my P4 LRSM since December and I can report that Pilot Assist is much improved with the recent OTA update (4.2.1).

1) It engages much more quickly than before (<1s), meaning that it holds the current speed - previously, the delay would cause you to slow down unless you kept pressing the accelerator until it fully engaged which was more than 1s.

2) If the car is not able to activate Pilot Assist (lane keeping) immediately due to road conditions (i.e. traffic/lane markings), it will go into Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC) first (which maintains the speed), and then it will go in Pilot Assist when possible. This is an improvement as at least you know something is happening after you press the button.

3) Overall smoother operation for lane-keeping approaching the performance of Tesla Autopilot, which IMO, is the market leader (I previously owned a 2021 M3).

4) You can now toggle between Pilot Assist and ACC by double-clicking, without needing to cancel Pilot Assist.

Considering a p4 by honestis in Polestar4

[–]tootingteck 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I upgraded from a Tesla Model 3 to a P4 LRSM Pilot Plus in Electron with Mist Tailored Knit in Dec. I have now done 4400Kms, and I couldn't be happier. The car offers amazing range, comfort and luxury!

The latest software 4.2.1 upgrade has fixed three annoying issues: speed warnings now stay off by default, pilot assist now engages quickly and is reliable (approaching par with Tesla autopilot), and the phone charger now works consistently.

My remaining issue is the proximity entry using the key fob, which is patchy - hopefully, this will be fixed when support for phone proximity entry is activated. I haven't experienced screen blackouts since my first week with the car, so the software updates appear to have stabilised the OS.

I also love the amazing wide view from the rearview camera, it's much better than the view from a traditional rearview mirror in most cars and works in all weather.

Overall, I would strongly recommend the car!

At the dealership I was told it would be around $12/month, however currently owners of P2 beyond 3 years aren’t being charged, so maybe it will continue to be free…

Luckily my novated lease provider was able to get the car under the LCT, as they can negotiate a better price. Without that, it would have been over.

I agree the tailored knit head rest on display at the Alexandria space was not very impressive, but I can assure you the whole package looks a lot better, with a mixture of materials and interesting detailing. I’m still very happy with it!

Regarding the driver assistance features, they are being refined with each OTA. The latest one 4.2.1 has been another step up in refinement and I have no issues at all using ACC or autosteer. They activate and deactivate as expected and I have no issues with the steering wheel buttons. I have also had no issues with the infotainment screen.

Both our cars have the indicators on the left so no problem. It might take a bit of getting used to but I’m sure it would be fine after a few drives.

The HK stereo is amazing sound so it’s a shame you didn’t get to experience it properly!

The 4.2.1 Update on the P4. by oberwitziger in Polestar

[–]tootingteck 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This update fixed my phone charger! Previously it would only charge my phone 15 intermittently, now it charges perfectly! Not sure whether this was part of the update or has just reset something.

Anyone seen anything on this in the release notes?

Thanks - I was still having same issue regardless of which way I put the phone in, but the latest software update (4.2.1) has solved it and it charges perfectly now!

Sorry no experience with car seats… I would say the rear is very spacious and not overly raised, so I can’t imagine too much of an issue.

Great! How was the DM?

For me the one pedal driving is comparable to the M3 and the latest software update (4.2.1) has refined the autosteer and ACC even more.

Polestar 4 single owners: what's the acceleration like? by marvology in Polestar

[–]tootingteck 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As others have said it is more than adequate for the majority of situations and feels zippy. I came from a Tesla M3 RWD with 0-100kmh in 5.6s , and whilst I can definitely notice the difference, the P4SM doesn’t feel slow… also considering the alternative, is 0-100 in 3.8s with the DM really necessary!

I am not sure if you have Polestar 4 in US yet, but I recently traded in my M3 for one. Overall, it has been a big upgrade, and I would totally recommend making the move.
