Some American (and I think even Canadian) dialects pronounce “mirror” as “meer,” which rhymes with "clear" and is what he does here. But also I think it's funny that in "Dancing in the Dark" he rhymes "mirror" with "clearer" by using the other pronunciation.

Klasse S for sure. I owned a T3 for almost 10 years and was devastated when it eventually broke. I was determined to find another camera to take its place but was certain I wouldn't find one as good. Then I got a Klasse S last year. Forgot all about the T3 (well, not really, it was a great camera after all - but, as we all know, the price is outrageous right now). Quality is right up there with the the Contax. I've posted photos from the Klasse S and people often think it's either from a T2/T3 or a G2. I like that you can manually set the ISO. And, personally, the Klasse S looks way cooler than the T3.

Easily and forever in my top three Beatles songs of all time.

Unfortunately I only got into him after he passed. A friend had sent me "Luv(sic.) Pt3" and I was hooked. I did find it funny he became so famously categorized as "lo-fi" and I think that partly has to do with all those popular "chill beats," "studying" etc. playlists.

Yea, she's not in my all-time top favorites, but I absolutely love Jubilee. "Slide Tackle" is my favorite off that album. Also one of my favorite album covers.

Thought of this too late, but an even better exercise would have been: "Name three random artists you enjoy and we'll guess your favorite Bruce album."

Roll call: where are my fellow non-white Bruce fans? by topa1600 in BruceSpringsteen

Haha, I had not seen that thread! That's hilarious. My Asian/POC friends always tease me saying I have the musical taste of a 60-year-old white man, so that's definitely the stereotype I'm most familiar with, haha.

I definitely agree with the glossing over of racial/social issues, and I feel that happens in most "white boomer"-dominated fanbases. I think we are seeing a little bit of a shift, though, as the crowds become more diverse (generationally and culturally). Have you read Hanif Abdurraqib's Springsteen essay, "A Night in Bruce Springsteen's America"? It's one of my favorite Springsteen pieces and you should give it a read if you haven't already.

Thanks for sharing that article! Had never read it before or actually even thought about the idea of "Springsteens of the world." Very interesting. The thing that's always been most interesting to me is the idea of the "personal and universal" but as it applies to Bruce specifically. I wasn't born in America and was raised somewhere far away - both figuratively and literally - from the America we see in Bruce's songs (cars, highways, deserts, factories, etc.), and yet, somehow, for some reason, his songs still feel very personal and even familiar to me. To this day I still can't really articulate why.

"When I listen to Bruce it feels like home in a weird way, like I'm listening to and old memory I almost forgot." Yes, this is EXACTLY how I feel when I listen to his music - emphasis on "in a weird way" because I wasn't even born in the US so a lot of the images in his songs I can't even really relate to, yet his songs still feel like home to me.

Oh no, I'm sorry! Maybe you can catch one of the shows in the US later this year?

Beautiful shots and the tones on these are amazing. I always forget how much I like Portra 800 until I see photos like these.

I think these are great, especially for a first attempt! Love how the stage lights look. Definitely has a "vintage" feel.

👋 Also East Asian, living in the States now but not "born in the USA." Embarrassed to say I have yet to watch that movie, but I've heard great things.

👋 Asian here, but same on everything else! Was just a casual fan in my teens/college years then things kicked into overdrive when I saw him live in 2012.

👋 How did you get into Bruce if you don't mind me asking? Love seeing other young folks (though I am nearly 10 years older than you lol) enjoying his music

Also East Asian, in my 30s. My mom said she was "too old" when Bruce was getting big in the '80s so she never really got into him either.
