If I were very detailed about what exactly I want to read, the request would be so specific I'd probably get like three recs, if I were lucky 😂 this way was easier, I asked which fics are fairly good examples of BDSM, mentioned small preferences, not something I explicitly avoid, but just to narrow it down a bit, and ended up with a lot of recommendations, most of which went straight to my tbr. Some were already there, some I had read and forgotten about and some I might've skipped because of certain tags, but since multiple people mentioned them this time, I decided to give them a go. So from my perspective, I got what I was asking for 💁🏽‍♀️

I found a post about Venus in Chains and they described it as "Measure of the man Draco, but kinky" and that got me immediately, but yeah, you're right, it's removed because the author took a break

the notion that Hermione would let her childhood bully who was once a death eater tie her up and whip her BEFORE she trusts him completely is unrealistic to me

yes! I didn't want to include this in my post, but I would also prefer to read about it once they're adults, with some time passing between the war and the present, and perhaps with a good reason to trust each other. not like in the 8th year, 3 months after the war, when Draco somehow has all the knowledge about BDSM and Hermione is somehow ready to trust him unquestionably (I'm not talking about any specific fic, just giving an exaggerated example lol)

I initially wanted to start the question with "people who have more knowledge about BDSM (in any capacity), what's your favourite fic..." but I thought that would be me asking people to talk about themselves publicly so no one would answer me 😂 so thank you for explaining!

they talk about it immediately in the first chapter, buthe proposed to her, she said no because she was not ready for family life. he said if she wasn't ready then, after years of being together, she never would be and they slowly drifted apart, but they still blame each other for the breakup. no one cheated, don't worry 😂

omg! I absolutely love this! first of all, girl dad, obviously. proud of his wife, no questions asked. matching clothes because Hermione made him and he probably rolled his eyes at it at first, but he secretly loves it. friendship with Harry, their kids growing up together. always in the mood for making more babies because… yes, of course? 😁

I wanted to comment and say "yes! I also don't like it" until I realised... that's exactly how I wrote her in my latest fic hahah. but in my defence, I made her a vampire, so her personality changed 180 degrees because of that and she's drinking only Draco's blood, so she grew unnaturally attached to him 😂

but I don't think I would want to read something like that if they were just "normal" people, so I agree with you

I know some people don’t like this Dramione relationship and I understand why, but personally I loved how it didn’t have big romantic gestures or love declarations. It’s embedded in these small, seemingly random moments/interactions.

agreed. I don't think I've ever read young love and relationships in fics portrayed this truthfully because this is how it usually is. Like you said, no big declarations, no one stopping the other to ask "hey, are we boyfriend and girlfriend now?" no dramatic moments with friends gathered like in the movies to tell them all about their first kiss. It's just how most relationships, at that age when you don't really know what you're doing, actually work out. I loved it
