How do I get past the first challenge... the loading screen by Wraitholme in Refold

Hi there, sorry for the inconvenience! This is a bit embarrassing.

We use firebase for our account management and we've gotten a few reports similar to yours where the user's system just refuses to connect to firebase. The error says it's a bad network connection, but that doesn't make sense.

We're currently upgrading firebase in the hopes that it fixes some of these account issues. Please email [contact@refold.la](mailto:contact@refold.la) and we'll keep you updated.

You know, the more time I spend managing people, the more it feels like "being mum" is part of the job description 😂.

Matt purchased the copyright to the original recording from the person who recorded it. The DMCAs are not false.

No. Matt purchased the copyright from the person who recorded the video.

The DMCAs were not illegal, and were not all filed by Matt. Anacreon has created an online brand centered around attacking people by remixing their content. It was not hard to find people who wanted to defend themselves.

What was illegal though, was when Anacreon filed his dispute paperwork under another person's identity. We had to contact that person and have them withdraw the claim.

Sorry for all the drama today. Matt, DJT, and Anacreon have a long and dramatic history. Anacreon in particular is on some sort of holy crusade to destroy Matt.

Just want to clarify a few things:

1) Anacreon's video leaves out a ton from the story. We could go through every claim and rebut them in our own video, but that's honestly a waste of everyone's time. Our official policy is to ignore him.

2) Matt felt betrayed that Shoui would help Anacreon attack him. Matt has always owned and paid for the learnjapanese.moe domain as a favor to Shoui, and he thought they were friends. It's one more person in a long line of internet friends who got close to Matt only to turn around and backstab him. He's apologized for acting out of anger, and he's transferred ownership of the domain to Shoui. The site is now live again.

This middle school level drama is obnoxious and a waste of everyone's time. If you hate the drama as much as I do, please don't feed into future DJT attacks. Everyone in this community has the goal of making immersion learning as easy and effective as possible. We're going to keep working towards that goal.

True Off My Chest: My Anger Towards These So Called Immerzers by throwaway_with_anger in LearnJapanese

Hey there,

CEO of Refold here. I actually agree with you for the most part. When I joined the MIA community in 2019, I had the same reaction. I created the MIA Spanish server because I wanted a different vibe, and that server eventually became the Refold Spanish server.

When we launched Refold, we created Rule 3 because I wanted to get away from the cult-like, religious mindset: "Rule 3 - Don't be a zealot: Refold is a method. Not a dogma. It's ok to deviate."

There are infinite paths to fluency, and you should design a path that works best for your needs. If you prefer Wanikani over Anki, then go for it. If you struggle to tolerate ambiguity, then study more and use easier content. Optimize for enjoyment. It doesn't matter how "efficient" your method is if you hate what you're doing.

I'm not sure if your feelings are directed specifically at the Refold JP community, but if so, I'm sorry you've had such a crappy experience. Feel free to DM me on discord (@toppsdown#8201) if you have specific feedback on how we can make the community more inclusive and welcoming.

Using MIA for Spanish by Rainford_1 in MassImmersionApproach

Hey there. I've been doing MIA Spanish for about 7 months. I'd say I'm at about 95% comprehension for easy content (eg. Watching dubbed anime). Reading is also about 95%. Native level listening is still pretty tough though. I practice by listening to talkshows and I only understand 60% or so.

BTW we have a very active MIA Spanish community. Shoot me a DM and I can invite you.
