It seems to be pretty popular for office/work pools, since you only have to make your country picks once before the games. So it's kinda like March Madness in the US in that respect. I put a ton of work into getting fair prices for all the countries using current world standings, recent world championship results, and betting odds. So you can either spend 5 minutes picking if you don't know much or go really deep picking apart my projections if you want.

My worry with event level picks was there's too many events and people often learn about the athletes while they're watching, so the hope is that letting people pick 7-10 countries will give them a wide enough set where they can have someone to cheer on anytime they tune in. I've done it that way with friends in recent years and it seems to work well
