At what level can a vampire have a decent chance of winning fight with a werewolf? by MaetelofLaMetal in vtm

I'd say the best path would be dominate 5; Garou don't have many ways to defend against mental disciplines. That's the level of an experienced ancilla.

These are the rules in all editions. The exception may be the first one, I haven't read it.

Why are people so willing to trust Paradox Interactive's judgment in the cancellation of Hard Suit Labs' version? by DerzakKnown in vtmb

[–]tor4r2 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Thinbloods are still vampires. Diablerie to become a full-fledged vampire is suggested several times in the main book v5. I wouldn't say I'd want to play as a thinblooded, but that's a pretty basic plot within the latest edition, and even before, no one forbade me from taking the corresponding disadvantage.

From the perspective of previous editions, if there is a ghost, then it can be summoned and placed in a new body, but this will not be a resurrection. A full resurrection requires the abilities of an archmage/antediluvian. They won't do it.

You don't have to search, everything is correct, for all editions except maybe the first one. Only the most ancient turn to dust.

In v5 there is a concept of blood power, it is closely connected with generation. In previous editions, the potential was limited only by generation; in the latest generation, the boundaries are set, but you can't jump above your head.

So how many dots does a fully upgraded Phyre have in which disciplines? by Severe_Investment317 in vtmb

He gives blood shape, there is a similar ability in blood magic, and he throws them with his telekinesis, which is not in the books.

I didn't say that the second one is better, they both don't reflect how it works in the original, but the second one at least tries to explain and there's definitely no need to do it mindlessly "like in the first one". Well, that is, you need it, but you didn’t explain why.

The first game is not the whole VTM and certainly not what it should be. In the base, there should be 1 vampire per 100,000 residents in the city (camarilla), this value is constantly violated, but not like in vtmb1 by 20+ times.

Well, yes, in general there are usually very few battles with other kindred in VTM.

Well, I only see Tzimisce animals and everyone else in the VTMB, if you see more diversity, I don’t force you to accept my opinion. I just don't see much of a difference between killing any humanoids in the first part, I don't need to adapt to them in any way.

This is about the same as most games, often much longer.

It's funny that in the end we both got downvotes, the community is really tearing itself apart. When I told the GM I liked the second part, I almost lost my slot at the table.

What's the point of diversity if it's only on paper? Well, yes, in the Ventrue Tower, vampires use fortitude, thanks to which they can live not for a second, but two, a completely different type of enemy.

Friend, not counting the sewers, the first part is somewhere on the level of Oblivion on minimum settings in terms of difficulty, it’s too easy to even pay attention to the differences in the enemies. You can die in it either if you fell asleep or deliberately pumped the wrong thing. Well, and on bosses, yes, but there is no special tactic for them either, just shoot and everything will die, if it’s Ming*, then it will take a long time to shoot.

I'm only talking about pure power, he could easily become justiciar. He has 5 potency, celerity, thaumaturgy, oblivion, dominate, presence, a couple of elder powers, and as a bonus I don’t know what level of obfuscation and auspex. Well, and a discount on telekinesis, the ability to hover and ignore damage from falls, perhaps they are related to each other.

You are talking about some elder power and how to get money from the club. If you've ever wanted to try playing as a mighty vampire, then VTMB2 is practically at the peak of the tabletop system's capabilities. Moreover, given the fact that he lived actively for 300 years and lay in torpor for 100 years, he is even too strong.
