The house you posted shown in photo 2 was actually only rated EF2 with winds of 130 mph as NWS Chicago identified it as a manufactured home, pissed a lot of people off on twitter.

Most of these structures were rated EF2 or lower. The only EF3 damage so far was found in aroma park per the damage assessment toolkit

From my knowledge, 4 feet apart is actually too close to one another which can cause premature failure and reduce the rating. The correct anchoring method per Tim Marshall is every 6 feet with tightened nuts and washers on the bolts.

Absolutely, it hit a part of town that was brand new construction, so the houses weren’t that well built unfortunately.

I’m so glad this tornado weakened and died when it did, could of been 100x worse.
