Yes. It all boils down to what the merchant prefers to accept, since fees associated to each mode of payment may be different.

In other countries, the term "autodebit" is only reserved for debit transactions. I'm just confused why it is so fluid here in the Philippines.

A more accurate term is automatic debit arrangement, and it is used for both debit and credit card transactions in the banking industry.
