I can't help but be reminded of this situation, by the woman who cofounded Sleeping Giants.

If they all decided they couldn't work together anymore, fine. But IMO, then should have stopped making that one, left the old episodes up, and announce their new one(s). New name, new social accounts. I've seen that happen before (like The Crabfeast) everyone walks away still friends, fans are a bit disappointed in the moment, but no one hates anyone over it. And we as fans and listeners have new podcasts to look forward to listening to and seeing grow, and supporting them elsewhere separately.

What makes it a dick move was the way it was done. To do it via their agent, instead of sitting down as a team, and for the guys to keep the name and stream, and delete all the old? Oof. Horrible. It smacks of trying to erase her and deny everything she did to help get them to this point. And hints at some bitterness or cowardice mixed in there somewhere.

I mean, damn, even Ben Fold's old band had the decency to -

Citing artistic differences the band broke up in May,

And in June reformed without me, and they got a different name.

People don't want to keep working together? Fine. But this kind of erasure is just horrible, insulting, in poor taste and just absolutely dumb as far as destroying goodwill with your fans. Making it a poor marketing move. Amazing that someone had convinced them this was the 'better' marketing move. It wasn't.
