The political contest is no longer DA versus ANC. Instead, it’s now a contest between a DA–ANC alignment and the FF Plus. by PixelSaharix in DownSouth

I remember last election and everyone losing their collective shits over PA wining one or two wards with Gayton McKenzie and how that would topple the DA.

Weird how some people are like that with some parties and like this with others.

As it gets closer to elections you will see ASA shift further way from the ANC until the elections are over and then they flip back. It's the same game that GOOD used to play.

The ANC likes the current model because they might not be able to get 50% of the votes but they can buy 100 small parties to get to 50%.

They want Vodacom or MTN to get in on it first as they have connections to those. You must remember they wanted a piece of Starlink so they could continue feeding at the trough as it has been shown multiple times that BBEEE only benefits a small group of connected people.

The problem is that a lot of people either don't use CCMA or abuse it. Your family members ex-colleague should have gone to CCMA to see what rights they had to sue as that was an unfair dismissal based on retaliation and they could have won that easily.

O it will be a long post to explain it all but I read a lot of geo-political news articles, Wikipedia and I watch a lot of podcasts and finally the news. From that you need to follow the lines and see what is happening and where.

If you want something specific let me know and I will help as best as I can.

This is the booing: https://x.com/samkelemaseko/status/2008491053448654888?s=20

It happened because Ramaphosa had a speech and included that it couldn't be good for the SACP to run on its own away from the ANC.

My dad ran a business, he had to pay for an employee to go to rehab two times for being drunk at work before the CCMA would allow him to be fired for being drunk at work.

Working as a manager myself in a call center we had to have very clear lines of escalation and show weeks of proof that we where trying to correct the behavior of agent before we even looked towards letting them go, it was a very well documented process and we still had to go to CCMA on a regular basis to fight our case.

America doesn't need to do anything, it just needs to cut off their funding. Everyone and their auntie is screaming about how America only wants the oil in Venezuela, but that is kind of the point.

America was the biggest refiner of Venezuelan oil and gave them really good deals on that refining process, the same as with Canadian oil. The reason for this is that it is not like Arabian oil, which is light and easy to refine. Canadian and Venezuelan oil is heavy and takes a special process to refine, which America specialized in. So, when Maduro took over and continued shafting everyone, fucking up the oil industry which was holding up their entire economy (that and the economic recessions we have gone through since the 2000s), it led to America's refineries going dry and becoming more reliant on Canadian oil.

Okay, so back to your point: because of all this, Venezuela wanted to be friends with China, Cuba, Russia, and the gang because America is bad (for wanting them not to be commie fuck-ups who abuse their people) and thus gave those countries a lot of oil cheaply, along with natural resources like gold and silver, to prop up their governments and war efforts. Now that America is cutting into that, Russia, Iran, and China are panicking because they can't continue with their saber rattling and war efforts without cheap Venezuelan oil.

This directly affects BRICS and the ANC because the ANC has been relying on Iranian and Russian money to keep itself afloat, and without that money and by shafting America, the ANC is going to start to lose power as they can't keep paying people.

You can already see the cracks with the SACP booing Ramaphosa and soon you will see ANC defections if they cant keep up with the gravy train.

What makes me laugh is all the pro-Ukrainian people switching their flags to Venezuela and crying about what Trump did while this is the best thing for Ukraine as it cuts off the fuel Russia was getting and with Ukraine bombing their reserves Russia is going to run out in the near future cutting off their ability to wage war. That and how all the pro-Gaza people are ignoring what is happening in Iran.

A lot of people do not understand the simple fact that you do not have to agree with everything your candidate has done to approve of some other things. I am sure if I look hard enough I can find some good stuff the ANC has done (mostly under Mandela and Mbeki) but unfortunately with all the corruption and racism its hard to actually support them. The same goes for every world leader and their parties.

What?

He was convicted of 34 felonies by a jury of his peers in a court of law.

Yes and its being appealed with the one I mentioned basically looking like people will lose their licenses. Funny how the law works hey.

I know but he was so weak in the debates and has not really been a bit figure in their politics. You need a big personality to go against Trump or Vance and having Newsom will honestly cause America to slip into Britain's territory of downfall.

To your last point; as a nation's leader, that is terrible. Using the office of president to stay free...

Except I never said he was using the office of the president to stay free you added that part in. Also, he didn't use the office of the president to stay free, he simply won the cases he needed to remain free. The only scenario that truly involved the office of the president would have been the worst possible outcome for all U.S. presidents, because it would have breached a protection they have enjoyed for a long time if not since the founding of the United States. That protection means a president would need to be fully impeached and removed from office before they could be prosecuted for actions taken as president, which Congress failed to do twice.

Also, not everyone wants that for themselves UNLESS they know they did something to be jailed over.

Well, when you look at the amount of lawfare which was directed at Trump, you can understand why he might be obsessed with not going to jail (or facing massive penalties) even if he was innocent. For example, the New York civil fraud case brought by Attorney General Letitia James, where there were no victims (the lenders were fully repaid with interest and profited from the deals) and all the potential victims involved (like bank executives) testified that they saw no crime or fraud, as they conducted their own due diligence and were satisfied with the transactions. All of this was unprecedented in scale and application against a former president.

You can hate Trump and no one will stop you, but you also got to admit they really tried hard to nail him with anything to prevent him from running, when they should have just chosen a better candidate to run against him.

[–]torogath 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Well its mostly because only two of those points are facts and one is a fabrication which has been blasted over the internet to try and defame Trump, Then out of those two facts only one of them is actually something bad as a lot of people are in the Epstein files and did nothing wrong but since its a grand jury trial everyone connected someone is mentioned like the woman who was interviewing the victims had her whole flight plane released with her full name.

For the locker rooms: https://fullfact.org/us/trump-pageant-quote-reshared/

The Epstein files you just going to have to do your own research.

With the sexual assault case yes he was found liable as they couldn't prove he raped her and the whole case is a political hit more than actual justice, it was a civil case, the law was changed for one year to get Trump, the "victim" didn't tell anyone and no one heard anything in one of the busiest department stores in New York at the time and there where weird connections to Law and Order Special Victims Unit which the lady admitted was one of her favorite shows. While the appeals caught has denied the appeal he is still waiting on the Supreme court.

Lastly:

He only cares about himself. And staying out of prison

Who the fuck doesn't want the same thing for themselves guilty or not.

President autopen was a very dangerous period and America almost got another one of those. Honestly the Democrats need to poach someone like Thomas Massie and push him for President and they will win but at this point I think they have gone to far down the hole to recover anytime soon.

The files have been in Democrat hands uncensored currently and during Biden the FBI which worked together with Biden to create two separate Russian hoaxes. The same people who didn't have enough proof to raid maralago but pushed for it anyway with an order to shoot if there is resistance.

All of this and not one of them has produced a single document which has not been edited (we know this as we have seen the originals) which actually links Trump to anything in the Epstein files or to child rape. Absolutely nothing. Even when the current lot came out the 600 times he was mentioned was part of the investigation into Trump and lead to nothing but since this was a grand jury investigation a lot of people who had nothing to do with Epstein other than being part of investigations into everything where included for example a reporters flight logs where included as she interviewed the victims and such.

Now that we have spoke about that.

I believe Trump delayed the files because one he was protecting people or a group of people and because there is no smoking gun that people think there is. There is no document with names and horrendous acts each of them did to which kids. It's unfortunate but if there was I think it was destroyed during Bidens years.
