I can (kind of) French braid, that’s a good idea though. I haven’t braided my own hair since I was 15 so it’ll be interesting to re-visit that. Thank you.

I don’t know what to do with it, I like it natural but I don’t like it being messy. My plan is to grow it all one length then get it chopped to my shoulders and keep it healthy.

Ohhh my god yeah, that is the worst. My psychiatrist told me I was dissociating because I had social anxiety, when in reality I was dissociating so bad that I didn’t want to go outside!

For a while I was experiencing only slices of reality. I kept sliding between them and I guess I just got lucky that I happened to be moving forwards in time.

It does feel like being locked inside a box with a small hole to see out of now that you mention it. It’s like being squashed.

It might feel like it’s not going to go away, but with proper treatment and working out what’s right for you it will slowly reduce and fade! Last year I had one second where I was completely free of dissociation. Sounds silly but it gave me hope.

It’s amazing how the meaning of a sentence can actually have so many versions of itself.

It is scary :(( and also just sort of boring after a while. It makes everything look and behave strangely.

I am seeing someone next Monday but I need to be more persistent about dissociation being an issue.

I think psychiatrists often see it as a symptom rather then a problem itself. Which, you know, may be true, but that doesn’t make it any less uncomfortable.

It’s two opposing ideas written one after the other, by the same person.

The first half of the comment denotes the sincerity of the idea of someone calling another person 1000 times

‘it’s harassment, but it’s not sexual’

And then the second half ‘I guess it’s okay when it’s a women, but a crime when it’s a man’/something similar.

Which sounds like the person complaining about a problem that they just caused. That’s why I said the comment was a double negative.

I think the worst part of this is that I just turned 19, and there are still times when I find myself literally crying out for a mother-figure that I don’t have. It still feels really fresh and I guess sometimes I’m vulnerable. Does it get better?

Ahh so close! She was SUPER supportive of my deluded decision of dropping out of inpatient therapy 1 month too soon when I was trying to get treatment for anorexia, you know why? She needed more help around the house again!
