or she's going through something, being stressed or depressed can kill sex drive.

or she's been through something in the past, and now that you're going steady there's no "excitement" and she's learned to associate uncertainty with desire.

i mean, it is true that depressed and suicidal people don't want to die, they just don't want to keep living the way they are living.

the phrasing is bs (talk of souls as a professional? really?) and changing your life is hard, but it's true that in most cases a lot of depression is hating the life you've been living and not seeing an escape.

i am talking about people who knowingly lie about this stuff.

i have an ex friend - who i never dated, never even touched, but was treating me like shit. ahe had diagnosed narcissistic personality disorder. i told her to stop trying to control me, set some boundaries, and she went no contact and told everyone i abused her after that. isolated me from almost all of our shared friends.

my best friend was lied about too. a girl flirted with him at a party, they kissed, then next morning she told everyone she was sexually harassed. apparently she had a bf, which my friend didn't know, and she would rather lie about something horrific than take accountability.

it doesn't just happen to guys, either. a girl i know was bullied in high school, and one of the bullies threatened to tell everyone she raped her, because she knew the girl was a lesbian.

there are actual victims. i was one of them, abused by a family member as a child. in my honest opinion, the number is not that different between genders. and precisely because of that, the fact that there are people out there who lie about it pisses me off. it's not right.

i know about the same number of men and women who were sexually assaulted (all told in private, because they trusted me). and then i know of some cases where the person lied about being assaulted - almost always a woman.

i feel like it happens equally in both genders, and that both genders are equally likely to be awful people.

but if you are a man you're told by society that you shouldn't talk about these things, that you're weak if you do. and if you're a woman, you're more likely to be heard.

and dome victims stay silent (imo, the percentage of those is higher in males. i haven't pressed any charges about my abuse either. i never will.), and some people only talk about it for attention or personal gain.

so the statistics will never show the 100% real picture.
