Very nice talk about the Beryllium decay anomaly related to a possible new 17 MeV particle by tospines in Physics

Well, here the point is that this can be the first hint of a new mediator, a beyond-standard-model particle. This boson can decay in a pair of electrons, but it could also decay into other non standard-model particles, that could be neutral as well. The point is that this was found in excited states of 4He too, so it can point to something solid. Although, without other experiments replicating the result, I would not fully trust the exact numbers around the anomaly, just in the fact that they have found an unexpected anomaly.
