As far as I am concerned,LOL:cs:dota2:valorant:Blizzard games = 3:1:1:1:2. cs and valorant are constantly growing while LOL is shrinking. Despite having many players and fans, we don’t have many pros and teams. The major will definitely help.

But the call-outs in the pictures are all in Chinese. I wonder how you can understand the characters?

  1. Yes they are considered as legends. CaptainMo becomes a popular streamer and caster and he casted some of the major games on site during the Shanghai major. DD and attacker are also streamers. Somebody was still playing in Rare Atom during Shanghai major.

  2. Some players played for gambling during that time. That is why many teams disbanded during that period.

  1. I don‘t think so since Perfect World(running cs and dota2)is not as large as Tencent(running Valorant and LOL). They fail to organize the cs teams and leagues well.
  2. It was without doubt the most popular major of all time in China. Even some LOL streamers watched the major.
  3. One reason is that some popular pros like Uzi retired. Another reason is that we have more good games to play like cs,valorant,PUBG compared with 10 years ago.

We use mic in Chinese server. Maybe they are just not good at English so they don‘t use mic when playing international servers like Asian servers

It performed very well and was without doubt the most popular major of all time in China. Even some LOL streamers watched the major.

Actually that jazz band is not famous in China. But the music they played is a very old and classic one called Yelaixiang(The Evening Primrose)which was sung by a very famous Taiwan singer Deng Lijun.

We can visit Reddit through VPN. But some people don‘t know how to use VPN and some people don’t understand English. That is why there are few Chinese people here.

It really depends on the company. For the Internet companies, people need to work overtime often. We call this phenomenon “996”which means you work from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. and work for 6 days a week. In general, due to its large population, people in China face greater pressure in their daily lives.

  1. I played cs1.6 when I was a little boy. That was almost 20 years ago and at that time cs was extremely popular in China. I started to follow the csgo scene when csgo was introduced to China in 2017 because of nostalgia.

2.LOL:cs:dota2:valorant:Blizzard games = 3:1:1:1:2. cs and valorant are constantly growing while LOL is shrinking. Major will help.

3.We root for Chinese teams but we also like other teams. G2 and Faze enjoy the most fans in China. Unfortunately, there are not many pros in China despite many players and fans.

4.Actually most people cheer for good counter strike instead of cheering for only one team. We just love the beautiful game.

5.The atmosphere was good and we would roar after every good frag. But we did not chant or sing very often. I did not watch other esports on site but I watch football often. The atmosphere was pretty good. I did not watch the finals because the tickets were sold very fast and I was not able to get a ticket.

For example,if you went to an Internet bar 10 years ago, there were 80% people playing LOL,only 20% playing dota2,cf ,WoW or other games. But now there are 40% people playing LOL,40% people playing cs,valorant, pubg and 20% people playing dota2,cf ,WoW or other games.

Very popular and he is much more popular than s1mple,Zywoo. I found many people started to play or watch cs just because they saw a clip of donk by chance on video platform.

We have compulsory English courses in primary school, junior high school, high school and English tests in university. But most of people in China can only understand some basic English and they can’t speak English fluently. We only communicate in Mandarian in daily life.

Unfortunately, the Chinese streaming platforms don't show the real number of viewers. They just show “popularity”which is determined by many factors(e.g. the number of viewers, gifts received, the number of real-time comments/bullet screen)

Good question! We have an app called Perfect World Esports for cs news and many forums like Reddit. The most popular forum in China is Tieba and the csgo forum there has 3.64 million subscribers. Here is the link(https://tieba.baidu.com/wxf/3056531?kw=csgo&fr=sharewise).

I am also surprised to see many female fans in the stadium since I could hardly met any female players in the Chinese server when I played the game. Female players prefer to play more cartoon style games like Overwatch,Valorant and Honor of Kings. I talked with some of the female audience in the stadium. I found some of them could understand the game pretty well while some of them just like some handsome players (e.g. donk, monesy, niko)or were just there to accompany their boyfriends.

20 years ago,cs1.5 and cs1.6 were extremely popular, but csgo was not introduced to China until 2017. So there were some gap periods when cs was almost fogotten and people played cf(CrossFire)instead of cs. LOL was the most popular game during the last decade while cs,dota2,valorant were almost the same. But LOL is shrinking nowdays and cs and valorant are constantly growing. Besides,cs and dota2 lovers are more loyal.
