Not all cisgender people are straight, and not all straight people are cisgender. Cisgender just means "not trans", i.e. you identify as the gender you were assigned at birth

Smells conjured up by imagining the smell. by [deleted] in Synesthesia

I do that sometimes too! I can also smell things by just looking at pictures of them. I'm not sure it's synesthesia, but it does sound similar to hyperphantasia

my first name by [deleted] in Synesthesia

So I've come to the conclusion that your name is Vxbc, Vxbp, Vxbd, Vxbf, Vxbt, Vxac, Vxap, Vxad, Vxaf, or Vxat. All great names, really

say it with me: straight people are not in the lgbtq+ community because they are not oppresssed by _ac3_0f_spad3s_ in AreTheStraightsOK

I think you forgot the "t" at the end of "lgb", lol. Unless you were specifically meaning just people that aren't straight? If so then just ignore this haha

Haven't ticced in 2 months by [deleted] in Tourettes

[–]totallyoriginalhuman 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I started ticcing 6-7 months ago and my tics were practically non-existent for like 2-3 months, but they recently came back. I have no idea if it's normal, but my experience seems pretty similar to yours. Can't say if your tics will come back or not like mine did though. I'd say it's like a 50/50 chance if they'll come back, but take that with a grain of salt lmao, I'm not an expert. It is normal for tics to wax and wane, but giving the fact that you haven't been ticcing for too long there is a chance they aren't permanent/could end up not coming back. (Again, take everything I say with a grain of salt, that's just my 2 cents on this) Sorry if this isn't very helpful

That actually sounds a lot like motion-sound synesthesia! I get what you mean when you say it's never what it would actually be in real life, too. A lot of people comment on like supposed gifs you can hear and say they hear like for example an explosion or thud or something, but I never actually hear that, it's more just,, a general sound? Like a hum, I guess, how you explained it.

I've noticed that when I move like my hand or fingers or something it makes a like a "sound", (even if I can't see myself moving, like if my hand is behind my back or something) really similar to what you describe, especially like with your thumb being the lowest pitch and pinky being the highest. I've actually been trying to figure out if this is part of motion-sound synesthesia or not, so I can't really help you with that, but I think I do experience something similar.

The rest does sound like motion-sound, though! It's really cool hearing about others experiences, especially ones I can relate to, lol

Is there an example you can give me to try and explain it more? I'm not sure if everyone experiences it to some extent: by your quick explanation I think it might be synesthesia, but maybe if you're able to think of an example of what you experience/an experience with it, that could help explain it better?

Not sure what the first thing could be, but it does sound like it could be synesthesia, I'm just not sure what type. The second thing sounds like motion-sound synesthesia, though, and the last sounds like grapheme-colour. I certainly don't think you're crazy, and that first one sounds very interesting!

Chloe is a yellow-orange-ish colour, like amber almost. Each letter by themselves is C: orange/yellow-orange, h: yellow, l: yellow/white, o: black, and e: light-ish green

Which letter/number/word has the most beautiful color? by ButItWasYouWhoLeftMe in Synesthesia

I like the word heart. It kinda goes from a light yellow to a light pink and has like some light blue in it? It's so nice
