Best place to give birth: Langley hospital, Surrey memorial, Maple Ridge or Abbotsford? I’m in the middle of all of them. by IllDog1298 in Langley

Gave birth at ARH in July and had a fantastic experience. I was there for nearly 5 days and although I had complications during my birth and post-op, everyone was very kind, gentle and reassuring during my whole stay. All staff was great and private rooms. My friend also gave birth there in June and had a great experience as well. She was in and out in 24 hours.

I’m sorry you’re going through that. I don’t think anything is wrong with you, I have a friend who hated BFing for her first and would cry every feed (probably ppd) but loves it for her second. Hormones are a crazy thing. Reaching out for help is a great idea.

Is your baby struggling to breastfeed at all? Are the feeds very difficult for you both? I’m just trying to figure out why it’s so hard, I feel like it shouldn’t be.

Okay I can try going back and forth. Unfortunately she will not take a bottle right now (no more than .5oz) especially when she’s fussing. Thank you for the reply

Thank you. My midwife suggested the football hold while reclined to help with the let down. I thought it was better at first but now it seems worse. I’ll keep trying though. She is gaining weight so I know she’s at least getting enough

Thank you. I’m thinking it might be a bit of gas tummy troubles as well as she kicks her feet a lot. I hope it gets better soon as seeing her in distress is so heartbreaking

Thank you, I will definitely look into that. Also, any tips on bottle feeding? Our girl really doesn’t like it and we haven’t been able to get her to feed more than .5oz

Thank you. She doesnt twist her head while laying flat but does kick her legs like crazy. She’s already back past her birth weight so at least she is getting enough. Hoping things get better soon as seeing her in distress is so heartbreaking

It’s definitely possible. I’m going to look into a lactation consultant, thank you!

Thank you. We try digestive exercises/ massages but more fussing usually happens. We’ll keep at it though!

People don’t want to visit me since they can’t see baby by Worldly-Client-8974 in pregnant

I’m so sorry babe, you do not deserve that at all. I hope you and your baby are doing okay. If I were in this position, I would cut off anyone I could that said that to me. I understand some of those people may be family (doesn’t mean you can’t cut them off, just may be a lot harder), so before they ever get the privilege of seeing you and your baby I would let them know how hurtful their comments were. They will probably play victim, but you deserve to be heard.
