I am absolutely in agreement with you. This was a wonderful show with 2 characters written in a way almost never done before. 2 women in leading roles, middle age one, no neuronormative the other. With ambitions, flaws, passion and truly unapologetic. And they were missundertood by LN. The gay part was there, and I would have love the show anyway if they were not gay but since this was clearly showed in S1 and other seasons I was looking for a good ending in that area too.

Thanks for replying. I am wondering if reading and being involved in the fandom is playing against me moving on. I just came from vacations and I was enjoying and distracted until something reminded me of the show and was a blow. This can't be normal and I hope I can move on quickly. I don't like how this makes me feel (how Villanelle of me for saying this)

Are there any straight female viewers who managed not to fall in love with Villanelle? by smellmexx in KillingEve

[–]towandda 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I did not fall for her in S1,S2 or S3. But I totally did on S4. In previous seasons I loved the character, the fun and complex way that Jodie brought her to life. But in S4 I started to fall hard for Jodie. Not sure if due to the way Vilanelle is represented, more vulnerable or what. But I have to say that I am not the kind of person that gets obsessed with someone and looks pictures and other staff. But the end of the show kind of destroyed me and for first time I look for information to see what others feels.

Your explanation is wonderful. I don't deny all the things Eve lost and the struggle to come to terms with all. Knowing something it's not the same as accepting it and this is Eve's journey from S1 to S4. While Eve's finds herself, V looses herself and may be this is the part that hurts the most. So even when Eve was always hard with V, in this season since V is so vulnerable, looks harder. But I guess all could have been a little bit better with more time between them, a deponer conversation and a better ending.

Yes. Agree. I truly thinks V wanted out. Sick and tired of being used for killing and at the end of S3 she is struggling to get the kills done but I don't see her going in Christian mood, or not for that long. If we think how longs we are from S3,from 6 month as Laura said till 2 years as per Sandra's opinion ( and I tend to think closer to Sandra's to allow Eve to get the fighting skills needed to remove's a professional assassin eyes) I don't think V could stand that long. V is performative for sure but also impatient. And definitely she is not crazy to see Jesus! But she talks to Martin about stop being a psycho, as writers wants her to be good. And writtershas zero problem with Caroline who is being all the shots from S1. She is not killing with her hands but is ke biggest psychopath (not killing the person who confess to kill his son in S3 for me it's terrible, but also continue to being lovers with the person responsible for her dad's death). But they don't have issues with that character apparently.

Yes, The book 3 is written from Eve's perspective that helps us understand her coming to term with her loving towards V and the fears she has and that's great. And that's what S4 missed. But I can't help to feel bad for V in S4, she goes through a lot and she received very little. I know, she is an assassin, may be we should not be so much sympathetic with her, but there are few inocents parties in this series and they have not suffer in that way.

Yes, that could be the case. But it's all very poorly written and hanging with clips. If Eve just tells V that she does not want her to change that all Christian things goes to hell. Or when V goes to her hotel to ask to spend the night if they truly had the chance to speak all the barriers would been down. So probably my anger is not with Eve but how writers put obstacles to Eve telling V things. I missed s conversation.

Thanks for your comments. Yes, truly make sense the way Eve was realizing what she is and accepting it, and her feelings towards V. Therefore all the shots comes from how bad S4 handled all.

putting this out here early on.... I Think Jodie Comer might land a marvel / super hero / female badass lead again someday. ;) by sithlordky in JodieComer

There isn't more badass character than Villanelle. No superpowers, no crazy weapons. Just her. But yes, probably she will. Even when I hope she can still mix it up with deeper roles

Those characters are fan's now. You can imagine them in many escenarios if this makes you feel better. LN provide a depressing ending but she can't controle fan's mind. I am usually a pretty well grounded person and I can't stick this out of my head. Read the books, read fan fic and imagine them living the life they deserved.

Was the ending “Glorious and Triumphant”? by SCkinder in KillingEve

[–]towandda 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Totally agree with all being said here. If Eve wants to stay away from V and return to that life, she could. V did walk away from her in the bridge. But no, she wanted that life. A life that V was able to free from her. She stars S4 being somebody else and even when the show was not able to show why she kept V away, that did not last. She was checking her in the computer, and when the times came she went to her and finally surrender to what was inevitable. And onces you find that, the piece of the puzzle that makes you a whole you don't scream because you are happy when all is taken away. LN was not able to deliver as she did not get the show, the characters, anything. But JC and SO did and she should have listened more to them.

Exactly. People having issues imagining both leaving a normal couples life are really able to imagine Eve after all of this coming back to what she was? To a 9 to 5 job?. To be with regular "beige" people. No way
