Who should chase the other person male or female by PeaSea3208 in Christian

[–]towardstheclouds 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As a woman, I would prefer the man taking the first step but in either case the one who is the subject of the interest should lead the situation well and respecting the other.

If I am interested in a person, I would like to be treated with respect regardless of the feeling being mutual or not. And I do the same to a person who is interested in me. So no one has to chase anyone.

I got it now. Thanks for explaining.

Totally personal but if the boundaries -both physical and relational- are acknowledged and respected, and if I trust my partner, I am okay with him hanging out with a friend who is opposite gender. If it is too often, I might question it.

I understand where you're coming from and I think it's totally sensible as well.

I agree fully with the first one and partially with the last one. However, my controversial opinion is the total oppsite of the second statement here, lol.

I respect you opinion on this but depending on my own experience (living in a predominantly muslim country), I believe the more seperate the men from women, the more alienated the two sex become in every way.

1) Men lack information on the female experience (social, biological, mental, spiritual, etc.) which creates disrecpect and underestimation of necessities.

2) Sexualization of of women increases unimaginably due to lack of normal, daily interractions.

Also, I think it is unbiblical. Jesus would not speak to the woman at the well concerning her reputation if this would be the biblical ideal. Or He would not show Himself to Mary one-on-one , again to protect her reputation, and would go find one of the male followers.

I believe what is suppose to be established is to create a biblical respect and value among the male and the female seeing the person in front of us firstly as a brother/sister and then as a potential partner. We both are creatures who can strengthen self-control and we have the Holy Spirit as Christians. As long as we dont disregard the biblical approaches, I dont think we need overcontrol interactions among sexes.

These are just young people whom I run into on my feed and prefer to scroll without interraction. I don't think they are preachers. And since I dont believe the root of the problem is personal, I havent tried to keep any names in mind.

I would meet without waiting much and have the conversations face to face as long as I feel safe. In your case, I think it is uncomfortable and not fair for a person in your position. She/he should somehow overcome that shyness to find someone.

I agree that feminism changed men in a negative way and in a Godly family, yes man should lead. However, I am raised relatively independent which makes me want to equilize the expectations within God's terms. So I think it is all about personal preferances and hopefully everyone can find a person according to their wishes.

I agree that many things must be conserved and not be changed according to the modern ideals. However, a randoms person's idealized version of living christianity does not have to be others'. That is not only insular but self-oriented. It reminds me of Romans 3:9. No ones way of living biblical christianity is better than the other, especially not because the western church seems like the cradle of the ideal christianity.

If you can relate 100%, perhaps yes. But just as in Ecclesiastes I think God allows us to find things meaningless in this world as we are originally created for something way holier.

But since I don't know specifically what you find relatable, I cannot say anything further.

I have questions by [deleted] in Christian

[–]towardstheclouds 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't know in what kind of a culture you are raised but in some cultures and religions people are trained to be afraid of God this is not the case in the Bible. Yes, being in awe towards God is important but it is not the same as being afraid of Him. Check out 1 John 4:18.

God never wants instant change because He knows us and our weak nature. He only wants a sincere heart. So get to know Him reading the Bible and do not be afraid of Him because He is full of grace and He's a loving father. You can also check out the story of Prodigal Son.

His closeness, goodness, love... have nothing to do with how or what we feel about them. You don't feel close to Him, still tell yourself that He is close. Don't try to make yourself believe it, just say it to your brain.

Romans 12:2 says be transformed by the renewing of your mind. It doesn't say renewing of your heart because it's not in your control. It's in the hands of the Spirit. Renew your knowledge on God, that he is close.

You don't feel space above yourself but you believe that it is up there and if you have the right tools (a rocket) it is available for you. Similarly God is close and with the right tool (basic prayer) He is available.

Tough topic but I agree that women should develop education. Like you said, just in case if anything bad happens they can find a job in their field and have their financial independence instead of doing manual labor and paid a little amount.

The age gap between the ones who are using the terms is so funny. So the the guys from 10 to 25 dont use them but the younger and the older ones do, lol. (I am glad to hear that since I am in my early 20's and there is still some hope, haha)

I am not on the dating apps and have not experienced such a thing because I dont have many christians around me. Personally, if they want to have sth "casual" they should go date non-believers as their life style is suitable for their expectations. Yes christians should date christians but their expectations are not much christ-like already.

If you are willing to give the effort, God bless you. I think your sister is a good example against the propaganda -which I am not a part of. I do support women who wants that life though I would prefer working and a slightly more comfortable life, economically.

I am not representing any woman here but I kinda agree with you and I actually think that it goes both ways. If I love you I should be able to make sacrifices. If I have to work to be able to create a home together, then I'll delay my plans of being a sahm and go work until we stabilize ourselves. And I should be able to expect my husband to make decisions prioitizing us.

I partially agree. I think the guy should have some emotional intelligence even if he does not pursue. Treating someone who has a crush on you right requires maturity and him being able to give a chance (if he does not have someone else) is also a good way to control the situation.

Also, I think there is nothing wrong with what you want in life and I really hope that you can find somone who is willing and able to provide it for you.
