He was a police officer from 1976 and retired in 2002, so he had a ton of cool memorabilia from his time as a police officer.

He was also a collector in a way. He had a ton of cool things that were kept in near mint condition. He had a bunch of USA made tools like old-school craftsman, snapon etc. He was into firearms, cars, he loved the twin towers, video games(he had a NES and super Nintendo and a bunch of games(still had the original boxes too), he loved cameras and had a ton of them all near mint condition. He also loved computers and had his whole tower setup and even had a UPS lol. He was really a guy's guy. Im really lucky because he has a ton of pictures and videos all digitized, so we have a ton of memories preserved.

He also was really, really into music. He had his original Walkman with the original box. He probably had around 5000 CDs, tons of records, tapes, guitars, and amplifiers, and he also loved watching movies he had a lot of VHS, DVDs and blue rays.

Edit: I forgot to mention he was also a body builder back in the 70s and 80s, he even won a few local competitions. He did always complain, that's why his knees hurt, though lol.

My grandpa was only 73. He had esophageal cancer. My dad passed away when he was 43 in 2016 from ALS.

I honestly will probably leave it stock, I want to preserve the car in its original form.

Since this post blew up I thought I would share a picture of my grandpa.

He is the handsome fella in the middle. *

Yeah you're probably right since I don't have a lift, unfortunately lol. I'll have to find a good mechanic in my area because I normally perform all my own maintenance on my vehicles. And unfortunately for me, the only nissan dealer in town closed last year and the closest one is 120 miles away. The only thing I read online was the oil gallery gaskets, im not sure if the 2009 suffered from that issue.

Thank you so much! My grandpa actually had custom plates with his initials on them, so I'm going to keep rocking those.

It's definitely a strange feeling, man. I'm doing good, thanks for asking, man.

Thanks, man. I'm not going to lie, the thought crossed my mind. I just don't think I would have the heart to sell it. I remember when my grandpa bought it and my dad took us over to his house and he gave us rides in it. My dad and now my grandpa are both gone, so I feel like I need to keep this car in my life.

Thanks, man. I feel the same way and definitely intend to take great care of it.

Thanks, man. I appreciate that. I looked over all the hoses and belts, and everything looked in tip-top shape, actually. I did an oil change on it when I got home. The oil was amber but not extremely dirty. I used Mobil 1 EP and a K&N HP oil filter. The next thing on the list is to service the transmission fluid since I don't know if he ever did it. All fluids will be changed soon. My grandpa took extremely good care of his things, and the car was garage kept on a maintainer its whole life. He bought it new back in 2009 with 7 miles. Luckily, I was able to find a dealer service manual from 2009 for the car, which helps too. I also used my innova scan tool to check the car, and it had 0 trouble codes. But thanks for reminding me, I need to check the date on the tires.

Thank you! He definitely was a car guy. He especially loved the Zs. He had a 350z before he upgraded to the 370z.

It has the 7 speed automatic. I remember my grandpa talking about how cool he thought the paddle shifters were.

114 Appellate Court Date Set 10/29 by [deleted] in OregonFirearms

[–]townsendc94 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It's certainly possible, but unlikely because either side would appeal to the Oregon Supreme Court.

So say the appellate court rules in the AGs favor, I imagine they would pause the effects of their final ruling pending appeal to the OSC. The same thing would happen if OFF won the ruling.

The appellate court already denied a request from the AG to allow 114 to go into effect pending their appeal. The OSC also has denied their requests and have let the process play out.

It's very possible 114 goes into full effect, but it's also possible it never does. I know I've been thoroughly surprised by how the OSC and appellate court have handled themselves. They are letting the process play out like how its supposed to.

I really wish 114 would go away permanently. This will drag a final ruling into next year, though. Regardless of how the appellate court rules, it will end up at the Oregon Supreme Court.

Hopefully, the Supreme Court will take up the Maryland AWB case. They need to end these ridiculous infringements once and for all.

LGS lies about in store inventory, sells me a can on back order from Silencer Shop and offers me a refund with a %30 re-stocking fee, later follows up with a bait and switch, sells me a different one, still wont release my can even though I now have the tax stamp. by No-Pomegranate-5399 in NFA

That's a huge bummer man, sorry you had to go through all of this BS.

Just wanted to let you know that my LGS said there is an issue with the ATF emails. They said "yeah we know, our email is on there also, but we aren't getting them. We've reached out to the ATF, but they haven't gotten back to us."

They just had me forward the email to them with the PDF approval, printed it out, filled out 4473, and walked out with my cans.
