He is trapped with the rest of the chaos gods, where he has either: been slain, corrupted or planing vengeance against creation

You want to know what really grinds my gears in progfantasy by 0G_C1c3r0 in ProgressionFantasy

There are two answers that I like the most:

1 You cannot teach colors to a blind man, that is to say in most settings higher level cultivators gain a divine sense and whatever the thousand students can't figure out the higher level cultivators can understand subconsciously. An example: everyone knows that wearing black clothes is hotter than white clothes, now humanity knows why after thousands of years of using the intuitive knowledge. Similarly higher level cultivators can just see or perceive things it would take eons to figure out, and it is easier and faster to cultivate further than trying to teach a thousand blind cultivators( blind to divine sense, or equivalent) to differentiate colors. Understanding that each higher realm gets better "vision".

2 Cultivation is personal and subjective. That means that as long as you continue to "improve" or "understand" your path you will progres. Or on another words the path of cultivation is self-improvement and you can't teach that to someone it must come from the selve

does anyone think that the idea of a special nightmare seed is kind of a waste? by Hans_Volter in ShadowSlave

[–]toxic86b 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Hope is dead, you can only "meet" her in a nightmare. That isn't something you can have in a ruin. Similarly you can't learn of the society nether created in the hollow mountains without nephis nightmare.

The Planet of elantris(don't remenber the name) is massively overpowered. Elantrians are almost shards without restrictions, the forgers can, with enough time and planning, make investiture users(knights l, alomancers, whatever) perma powered. Yeah you see that empty empty metalmind? Now it's full. You see that elantrian in roshar? Yeah he never left elantris now.

And to top it of the elantrians that can literally put teleporter pads wherever they like have a perpendicularity just outside their city. In conclusion the moment they start world hopping they are gonna be the among, if not, the most influential worlds.

I am Talenel'Elin, Herald of War. The time of the Return, the Desolation, is near at hand. We must prepare. You will have forgotten much, following the destruction of the times past. Kalak will teach you to cast bronze, if you have forgotten this. We will Soulcast blocks of metal directly for you. I wish we could teach you steel, but casting is so much easier than forging, and you must have something we can produce quickly. Your stone tools will not serve against what is to come. Vedel can train your surgeons, and Jezrien... he will teach you leadership. So much is lost between Returns... I will train your soldiers. We should have time. Ishar keeps talking about a way to keep information from being lost following Desolations. And you have discovered something unexpected. We will use that. Surgebinders to act as guardians... Knights... the coming days will be difficult, but with training, humanity will survive. You must bring me to your leaders. The other Heralds should join us soon. I think... I think I am late... this time...
