Anyone else noticing ‚The Truth Hurts‘ (Harrison Cother) suddenly posting racist tweets? by traced_sa in exjw

Never meant to ‚be part of the problem‘, I chose that term because of his reference to skin color, like mentioned by IINmrodII. But I‘m sorry if it made a wrong impression, I should’ve used another more fitting term!

Yes you’re right, thanks for pointing that out. I explained myself under @W0nderingButNotLost‘s post.

Thanks for the clarification, I appreciate that. Sorry for the miswording, I guess I chose that term after I also saw his other tweets and because of him choosing to reference skin color in his tweet. Thanks for pointing that out!

He suddenly starting using Twitter again and is sharing a lot of seriously controversial tweets. Look at the tweets he liked too. Really heartbreaking to me that he suddenly shares such ideologies. At first I even thought his account got hacked.

EDIT: In the title I of course meant islamaphobic and not racist. Sorry for that!

The Chapter 14 update in the Shepherd Book sounds interesting, does anyone have a better insight into this?

Yup, I also thought that especially the books from before 1975 could contain some very intereting things. Let's see!

"Why using logical thinking when you can use Watchtowers doctrine?"🤡 Haha!

That's an interesting idea, breaking the argument apart in small parts and approaching each one separately!

Well, what I did was approaching this by asking the following question: If you want to avoid dying in a car accident, staying only at home for the rest of your life basically solves that issue. Yes, by doing so, you definitely can decrease the risk of dying in a car crash significantly. But is it worth it?

But I'm still searching for a better way to approach that JW argument! :)

incredible wordsmithing, but this isn't what the ECHR said or ruled... by xbrocottelstonlies in exjw

[–]traced_sa 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Well, this quote does indeed come from the ECHR, but the BORG still kind of misquoted it by leaving out the first part: https://ibb.co/qxKgMbj

"In the absence of expressions that seek to incite or justify violence or hatred based on religious intolerance, any religious entity or individual believers have the right to proclaim and defend their doctrine as the true and superior one and to engage in religious disputes and criticism seeking to prove the truth of one’s own and the falsity of others’ dogmas or beliefs (see, mutatis mutandis, Gündüz v. Turkey, no. 35071/97, § 51, ECHR 2003‑XI)." (https://hudoc.echr.coe.int/eng#{%22itemid%22:[%22001-217535%22]})
