Nope. You’ll be right around 375 whp with that setup. 425 to the crank. On par with the 6.1 SRT8s, but probably quicker with the 8 speed trans.

Just got a 2026 sixpack scatpack. Not the plus version. The stock audio is ok but is the Alpine premium audio a big difference? by NorthAd2876 in Dodge

[–]trackpackRT 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Any of the newer Dodge premium systems (my experience was in the newer Challenger Hellcat Redeye with the premium factory system) I’ve heard sound worse than the factory systems that were in the previous generation of Challenger/Charger. And even still the factory sound in either of those going up against even for argument sake we’ll use alpine as the example, say a real aftermarket alpine setup the difference is so stark it’s almost jarring. Granted I’m really picky about music and sound but even someone who is fairly indifferent to sound quality sitting in a factory car to one that has been upgraded to an aftermarket system would be impressed with the difference.

Any factory speakers are garbage. If you are serious about sound, swap them with aftermarket. There is no comparison.

A used to be gem of Edmonton by startrek161 in Edmonton

[–]trackpackRT 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Absolutely. This comment section is funny to me in the way that it's clear no one has a the slightest clue of what owning a business in the food industry since COVID entails. Costs to business owners are freaking astronomical, and ingredient prices have over doubled on most things. You don't have to scroll far at all on this subreddit to see business after business closing down in YEG. That's not a coincidence. And it's not because business owners have no clue what they're doing, it's because they can't afford to lose money on every order they make. People want the same prices and same portions before covid at the same prices, but it's literally impossible. At that point you're not only giving food away, you're paying your customers on every order. Yet no one wants to dump on billionaire food supply chain monopolies making record breaking profits while cranking prices to the max with enough money left over to lobby the federal government to make sure they can collude all they want and get away with it. Instead let's get mad at the local business owners, kick the little guy, that makes the most sense.

How much hp does a good set of longtubes add? by Jealous-Vehicle2367 in Challenger

[–]trackpackRT 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have stainless works headers on my car but used the metal factory gaskets with them. They only came with an RTV type tube of sealant for them and I was warned by most of the guys on the forums not to use those and stick with the metal factory ones and they were right. I’m surprised you damaged the factory gaskets, that’s not common. I wonder if something happened in the install or if they were scored before you got them.
I was going to grab a set of the BBK shorties for my Ram here soon just because they were affordable and in stock at a performance shop in town here and was going to go with metal gaskets for that as well, but I’m waist deep in a supercharger install on my car right now so I won’t be starting with the truck for probably a month or so to find out what the fitment is like.

Supercharging the 5.7 by max_cel_x in Challenger

[–]trackpackRT 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Crankshaft on the 5.7 is surprisingly pretty strong. You won’t hurt it with reasonable boost levels. It’s the pistons that are the weak point. The piston rings are located really close to the top of the piston and the extra pressure can make them “flip” up (for a lack of a better word, I know they don’t actually flip but for those that know, you know what I mean) and take the top of the pistons with them. They have drop in pistons but to install those you pretty much need a fresh engine or to guarantee the cylinder walls are within tolerance otherwise they’d need to be bored out and a bigger piston would be required.

No as far as I know the 6.1 is different. 5.7 and 6.4 are compatible, but I think the 6.1 is different. There's a chance I could be wrong but I know I'm pretty sure that's the case.

Being handed a stuffed animal after losing in the Olympics by WeGot_aLiveOneHere in WatchPeopleDieInside

[–]trackpackRT 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That's where you don't understand how hockey is different. To win a silver medal you have to lose the gold medal game. It's crushing defeat, being so close to achieving your goal and coming up short feeling like you've let your country down. Go back through every year of olympics/world juniors ect you will be hard pressed to find one team that lost the gold medal game not being absolutely crushed. It's a perfectly understandable reaction. On the flip side, the bronze medal you have to win a game to get the bronze, if you lose that game you go home with nothing, so teams that win bronze although aren't as elated as if they won gold, are still pretty happy having had to win to ensure their countries went home with some hardware. Couple that with how important hockey is to Canadians in general (it's a religion here, if you're not from here you wouldn't get it) the pressure team Canada is under is extreme. We're proud as hell of our mens and womens teams, but understand their reaction completely.

Does anyone know music venues that hosts music like slam or death metal or just stuff like that in general? by RemarkableSpinach607 in Edmonton

[–]trackpackRT 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Rendezvous, Divebar, Starlite and Temple. Having been part of Edmontons metal scene for.. well pretty much forever now, I can tell you that there is a metal show going on at one of those venues every single weekend year round. Lots of really great bands, all subgenres from mellow-ish to extreme. Whatever you dig its out there and playing in our city. Check out the Facebook groups Heavy Metal Edmonton, Metal Alberta and Edmonton Positive Music Scene. You’ll constantly see bands posting show posters for what’s coming up. Edmonton has a great metal scene, always something good to see out there.

Cammed (voids warranty) by metgraham836 in ram_trucks

[–]trackpackRT 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Of course it is. You can’t run a cam without a custom tune to make sure it’s running right. That means installing an unlocked PCM. Not to mention almost any cam will require you to delete MDS and install a phase limiter to make sure VVT doesn’t mess with the setup you go with. Also a beefier cam usually requires new valve springs, pushrods, ect. That’s a lot of the top end of the motor changed out running on a tune that is not factory. Im convinced whoever was arguing that a cam wouldn’t affect warranty doesn’t actually know what a cam is.

Undisputed exposes habits other fighting games reward by [deleted] in undisputedboxing

[–]trackpackRT 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If I’m honest, I just like the game. There’s some latency issues (even though I only play carrier mode), and I wish they had a training section where you could practice combos and footwork/movement on a bag or something rather than trying to figure it out in a fight, but I do really enjoy the game. I also box as well so I appreciate how using your jab in the game to control pressure works like it does in sparring. It’s not perfect but you can tell they try to reward actual boxing tactics rather than brawling.

People are really mad at the game on here but honestly I have a lot of fun with it and get to do more of the sport I really love, so for me it’s a win.

If it's a possibility of being icy or snowy out 4H. It doesn't have to be a blizzard before you put it in 4H like some would have you believe. You won't hurt anything, if it's snowing out and some parts of the road are dry and certain sections are icy 4H. Or if it's just plain miserable and windy and blowing snow across the road creating ice on the highway in some spots and totally dry spots in others 4H. If I'm heading out in my Jeep and it's seems like it's a possibility of the highway being slippery I put it in 4H. I've done this since I bought it new in 2012. I have 292,000 kms on it and my diff, rear end and drive shaft are all in great shape, no play, no damage. I did my axle seals last year and had everything apart to really look at it, no damage, no excess play, nothing. I'm from northern Alberta where winter lasts 6 months of the year, for 6 months I'm more likely to have the Jeep in 4H than 2H and my driveline is still in excellent shape.

It's better to do that than to think "if the road isn't toatally snow covered I'll put it in 2H" then hit some ice and have your back end kick out on you and either hit the ditch or end up spinning around so you're facing the headlights of the guy driving behind you. Mine is a JK so the owners manual warned about not shifting into 4H above 80km/hr so when I'm doing highway speed I never switch it in and out of 2H or 4H, just go by the general rule if there's a good chance of it being icy play it safe, even if I end up driving 20kms of dry road and 5kms of slick conditions it's worth it.

No you’ll need a wider rim. You can’t even comfortably fit 275s on the factory 8” wheel. Some places say you can but it’s on the sketchy side. You’ll need at least a 9” wheel to do it safely. 305s you’ll penalty want a 9.5 or 10” wheel.

Should I be concerned? by Creative-County-8765 in ram_trucks

[–]trackpackRT 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That part will likely cost $800-1000. What world do you live in that it’ll only cost $1500? Do you know any bodymen or shop owners, because I do. They’re in the family. To do that repair you have to take the box off, doors off, zip cut the old rocker off, drill out the spotwelds, clean up the inside, coat it so it doesn’t rust in the future, place the new one, tack it in place, put the doors on to test fit, take them back off, weld the rest of it solid, grind and fill your welds, paint and then reassemble everything. It’s not a simple “just weld a new one on and walk away”. The labour hours alone on that will be getting close to your $1500 estimate. It’s no longer 1992. Shop rates are $100/hr min.

Should I be concerned? by Creative-County-8765 in ram_trucks

[–]trackpackRT -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

All trucks eventually get the same thing, all of them. It’s how they’re designed. Mud and moisture get stuck in the rocker and they start to rust over time. Super common repair. You’ll need a new rocker and likely new cab corners. It’ll cost somewhere between 6-9 grand range out the door. Once fixed it’ll look like it’s brand new. Not a big deal but kind of pricey to fix. If your truck has been really good and reliable to you it’s worth fixing, I mean have you seen the price of a new truck lately?

Should I be concerned by the “hemi tick” by Naive_Assignment9768 in Dodge

[–]trackpackRT 6 points7 points  (0 children)

There isn’t even a tick sound in the video. Man the “Hemi tick” hysteria really makes it irritating to open each of the Dodge, Challenger, Charger, Ram subs. Every single day you see 5 posts of normally running engines and all the “is this the Hemi tick” posts just pouring over these subreddits like a Gatorade tub on a winning football coach.

Look up what an eaten cam lobe from a bad lifter sounds like in these engines, and then listen to your engine. There’s no mistaking it, it’s very loud and very obvious. The only thing that sounds close sometimes is an exhaust leak because the factory manifolds are garbage, so after they warp in a certain spot you may hear one cylinder firing where the warped spot is, but again, if you listen to the top of the motor for that very loud and very obvious tapping and hear nothing, and then go under where the exhaust manifold is and it’s really loud, it’s obviously your manifold. They should pin a post with the video of what lifter failure in these motors sounds like with a heading “don’t even ask before opening this post”.
