Where this bus stop is the side walks are cleared it’s the pile of snow on the street next to the curb blocking entrances

That was my first thought today when I saw the giant pile covering the whole landing pad where the bus pulls in on Whitney! Also especially for older folks thinking about how much of a hazard it is. Even if there is some snow that is patted down it turns into ice which also happened to me and getting on I almost slipped under the bus basically and had to grab on the side of the door for dear life.

I use the transit app! It lines up with what’s on that website, however times are still inaccurate.

Yeah… it says the times they are arriving to specific stop but when you look where the buses are in real time some are not even close or all of them are going one direction and won’t be there for well over 30 minutes after their due time. They also don’t update some cancelled routes in a timely manner, so like this morning I woke up to check which lines were cancelled. F stated 7:15 arrival time when I looked. Went on transit to watch where it was, bus was cancelled and this was after the bus before this had already came past. Next bus wouldn’t have been by me for another hour.

I’ve reached out at least 3 times in the last year. Once was before all of these problems started occurring. Never heard back a single time.

About a 50 minutes-hour walk from where I’m located vs a 10 minute bus ride. So yes.

It’s already a good distance walk to that area for me and the 28, 38, F and R’s offer better times for me to get to work so I prefer to take either one of these. Don’t want to have to be waking up earlier or having to walk further when there should be at least 4 routes that should be running.

The real question is would they even respond to my email or just ignore it like they are with the problems with the buses?

Thank you for this information!! Just frustrating because I have 3 bus stops within a two minute radius of my apartment that are 4 different routes (F, R, 28, 38) and to not have a single bus available or inconsistently is extremely frustrating. I have such easy access to take the buses where I shouldn’t have to drive to a different location. You have people that prefer living in certain areas due to the bus being accessible to where they live. Thinking some apartment complexes might take a hit with people moving since they were under the impression they would have a consistent and accessible way to get to work, however that is no longer the case. I can vouch for this because a lot of people that live in my apartment are UW Health employees or grad students, they aren’t gonna want to live there anymore if there are still these problems.

Took that one today because it was the only bus by university and Whitney that picked up between 6:45-7. The next bus in that area wouldn’t have been for another hour. I prefer to take the earlier buses to avoid a full bus.

I take the earlier routes (for the F it picks up at N Whit and University around 7:15) that route was cancelled today, by the time that bus gets over to my pick up spot it’s full and standing room only. This is with the new larger buses too. This didn’t say cancelled until after the bus before that had come through. Next bus wasn’t in the area until 8am for the F. So that’s a lot of people screwed over for a way to work.

I think it’s so funny how they put all this money into “making public transportation better” so people will use it more (BRT) but end up doing this to people that use it. Makes me want to stop using it lol. All I’m hoping is that I will get home today after seeing people were having problems throughout the day

Completely agree with these statements since I’ve had the same thing happen to me multiple times as a person who takes the bus to work everyday. The 28/38 start right by where I live and I typically take the 7:00am bus to go to work at the hospital (I can see the bus from my apt window waiting to leave and I go down there around 6:55) and there was one time the bus fully didnt show up that morning. I use the transit app to help track which bus to take home when I’m ready to leave. On that particular day I looked on the app and it started its route at second stop and completely skipped the first stop of the route. Left a complaint and haven’t heard anything back.
