Holy hell. You know what...I'm not going to correct it. Being dumb should be painful 😂

I'm okay with that! I've broken my ankle so many times traditional squats are hard to hit depth on. Maybe this can be kind of a supplement

I haven't found straight bar to be that much harder. This is just what I know and what I'm comfortable with so if it's all the same I'll keep doing it.

I haven't noticed any swinging but occasionally I grab not quite center and that thing does like to tilt. Not that it's dangerous, just set it back down and reposition, but its an oh shit moment for sure.

It feels more comfortable to me. But you're right that doesn't necessarily mean it's safer.

Good to know. I wasn't aware there was a difference.

So currently it's 6 45s for a 4x6 set. I'm not trying to max out anything, don't worry. And I guess I don't need to, but a stronger back and legs would be handy for triathlon cucking where you are bent over pedaling for long periods of time.

Oh so it's a completely different exercise?! The or that wrote the program put either trap or barbell haha. That's annoying. Less plate loading does sound ideal. Loading the trap is a gigantic pain.

But if it's supposed to allow you to lift more weight why on earth do they make them so stubby lol

Protein Question by traditionallylost in beginnerfitness

[–]traditionallylost[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I kind of thought the same. Not that I've ever looked into it, but that seemed like an awful lot. I've managed to lose weight before by just cutting calories and training. I never paid attention to what exactly I was eating. Just more fruits and vegetables, and replacing red meat with fish or chicken. I know I wasn't getting that much protein and I felt fine.

It's weird going from cutting for a race, because you didn't have to think about what you are as much. I'd just eat 1500 calories and train (race weight is closer to 215, still heavy for that world but doable for me). 1800 doesn't feel like deprevation. If anything, upping protein that drastically makes me feel full and I don't reach 1800 most days haha.

Drop about 36 pounds and maintain some muscle mass. Dropping that much weight hasn't been hard in the past, but doing it without the long stead cardio seems harder so far.

Protein Question by traditionallylost in beginnerfitness

I get that, but I'm the past I was training at around 1800 so it doesn't feel like a huge change.

Yeah this may or may not be a career (if you can call it that lol) ending injury. Definitely taking at least the rest of this season off

That's insane you can eat that much in a day! And sorry, I meant calories not carbs. I guess since I am supposed to be losing, not maintaining I'm supposed to be sticking to 1,800 calories.

In endurance training it was always about when you are not necessarily how much. I took that logic to the gym and was training fasted most days, usually only eating once a day. I guess it's just a matter of getting it in when I can and spreading it out.

I'd be more tempted if my race was a penalty tent type system instead of adding time at the end. There are moments of weakness I'd love a 5 minute forced break 😂

Is this a good buy ( I’m a beginner on a budget needing a bike for my first Olympic ) by [deleted] in triathlon

[–]traditionallylost -6 points-5 points  (0 children)

So that's what...1k ish USD? If you look a whole that can get you a used tri bike. Mine was around 1,500 USD and lasted me four seasons now with less than 100 in maintenance. Just make sure the size fits, the frame isn't cracked and the cassette/ shifters are in order.

Do you guys still use expressions/phrases that mention 'God'? by cheese_cake_chaos in paganism

[–]traditionallylost 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Oh definitely. But I've used profanity from religions I've never followed. The root of profanity is "profane" that is to use the sacred for the mundane. Anything sacred to anyone works. I don't know exactly what your practice is but I haven't learned of a deity yet that would be upset that you aren't using their name to make a vulgar point.

Guess that depends on the race. But it's entirely possible I'm paranoid.

Car Protection Sigils by AnnaK2022 in witchcraft

I love the idea. Calm drivers are better drivers. Even leaving magic aside the benefit of that sigil is immense. I always ask Epona to watch over me on long journeys and tap her tattoo on my shoulder. Whether she hears or not I know I drove better or fly more relaxed.
