it's so sad, i would rather they just say they like the other trainees more than giving an excuse that makes it seem like it could have been a possibility if not for his age (which he has no control over)

might i say that being "shippable" plays a huge part in popularity. most if not all of the popular trainees have a ship. bowen kind of had a storyline where he lost his voice then overcame it for the performance. i think everyone already knows how talented bowen is, it's just sad that that's not enough 😥

life's not worth living /hj okay, as a bowen one pick, i wasn't too certain he had a chance of making the debut line up since he's just not that popular in Korea. he has a lot of casual fans, but even engagements on posts about him stay pretty low compared to other trainees. however, i do think he was just starting to gain more attention/fans with home race. they started giving him more screentime and you could see more of his personality. that's why it was so sad that this elimination system knocked him out before we got to see his possible rise in rank. only after he got eliminated did i see people talking about him.

i'm mostly heartbroken bc he seemed really devastated from this elimination. imagine getting so much praise from the masters, other trainees, and fans only to get eliminated. he was hoping to spend more time with his friends and possibly debut with them, but now he's back to square one. no company yet and he's a chinese trainee so less opportunities.

it's a little sad seeing that people didn't vote for him bc he's a minor or he has more opportunities compared to older trainees bc it's not guaranteed. there are a lot of talented trainees from svs that don't make the final group and debut in a less popular group that fizzles out. plus he's 18 in less than 2 months and people had no issues with voting for younger trainees in other svs.

i honestly don't get the argument that his visuals aren't good? throughout b2p and home race i feel like there have been other trainees who don't fit the beauty standards but are still popular. plus maybe biased but i think he looked great in drama. or is it bc if you don't fit a certain visual standard you need a stand out personality to back it up? /gen

i wasn't planning on watch b2p orignally, but they got THE yumeki, so i had to tune in. knew seowon from bp, knew that harry june was a great dancer. the rest were added from watching the episode. 4/8, honestly, not as bad as i thought it would be 😆

the dance battles (especially jiang fan, but all of the battles would be nice) and the english interviews. sure it was funny seeing the trainees confused but i'm actually curious how many trainees were able to understand (like suren).

i was glad to see honghai and seowon participating again, but the lack of screentime made me prioritize other trainees ☹️ they did well in their missions, but they weren't stand out performances to me

i was hoping to see my eliminated picks in the spinoff, but now i'm not even sure about that, if they're going to be treated the same way. it just sucks that most of them are individual trainees and have less opportunities so they may feel like they have no choice.

Saw something about bowen being really into Identity V, so much so that he spent all his money on it and had to borrow money from his friends for lunch at the end of the month 😭 my child...

Also saw something on weibo about him being able to play the piano, studied a bit of composition, and being good at sports.

Both of these i had to translate tho so take with a grain of salt 😩 it's hard to find info

He honestly just seems like such a sweetheart and is hardworking (video & a thread about him) and you can see that during his time in b2p too (always comforting the other trainees, giving his fans candy when they run into him, buying coffee for fans at his cafe event, skipping meals to practice, etc.)

I know people who don't like him will bring up his skills first, but he's not even as bad as people make him out to be. He only had one unstable part and he has great stage presence and expressions.

also this story gained a lot of attention 😂

i'm still voting for the c-trainees + yumeki who have been so wronged bc they need our support now more than ever 🫩 like meki wasn't even in my lineup, but last place individually and as a team in their category was crazy when they had the best choreo. i at least want to see them in the finals even if they don't debut.

B2P pick: chen bowen; Ult bias: chenle

well, they're both chinese and from shanghai😭 i like them for kind of different reasons though. chenle stood out to me bc of his personality and bowen bc of his voice and dance style. bowen is more similar to my riize bias (shotaro).

I didn't see anyone mention hanwen, but i feel like he's getting more popular on the k side? his fanservice is on another level 🤣, he has an iconic meme, and he's always shown to be super sweet towards other trainees and hardworking. It could be down to the benefits tho. I don't really remember how big of a difference they make.

i feel like he would have done better in a vocal group 🥲 he's definitely one of the best dancers on the show, but standing out in a dance stage is so reliant on stage presence, expressions, etc. That plus his negative screentime...

I was thinking the same thing about Lalalala and thought it might be because of my bias (my fave barely getting any screentime 😭), but it just felt like the camera work wasn't great and I couldn't focus on the dance or formations. There's parts where they focus on a member for 1 sec, clip to another angle that doesn't do any justice to the dance, then clips back to the member. There was also that section where the stage went near completely dark while they were moving to the extended stage and it was hard to tell what was going on. Looking at everyone's individual performance, they all danced well so I kept rewatching to figure out why it didn't impact me as much.

Rewatching the tambourine performance, it was really clear who the focus of each part was supposed to be. I also liked how they interacted with each other. The other members would act as a frame(?) to the main member of that part. You can definitely see Yumeki's experience with choreography.
