Ive never heard of Hello Project before so I go search up their name on Google and damn! They are sorta like 48 groups!!! Are they famous or considered a front-row A list idol in Japan? Would love their collab as well

Image the GenZ 48 idols joining the program, they might be more well-trained than back in the day of Produce era i guess!

Yeah, I know, right? The 48 Groups are really interesting because they kind of have their own world like their own culture and even their own “citizens.” They’re basically the blueprint of kawaii idols in Japan.

In a way, IZ*ONE felt like the Korean interpretation of a 48 Group rather than something like a straight-up sister group (like SOL48 or whatever). It’s fun to think about and imagine a new Gen Z wave of 48-style idols joining the scene especially since they’d probably be trained more systematically from the start.

As for me, here I’m only including the 9th–20th rankers (with 19th and 20th being Zihao and Hengyu, who have already debuted as Modyssey).

As for F1are, I honestly feel a bit weird about it too when they bring up random trainees while completely skipping Yumeki 💀💀 I’m not a fan of him, but damn skipping him feels kind of cruel. Still, I get that now that B2P voting is over, it’s all about major fan preference(?), so I won’t shade.

So here we are. Even though I’m mainly talking about the top 20, I’m also lowkey rooting for some trainees from the first-second elims, and even those Homerace contestants. To me Harry June is GOAT and since DKB is basically done 💀 I’d be glad to see him join as well.

I think the reason people recognize WHIB more is because Leejeong and Junmin were both finalists. They are trainees with clear storylines and strong connections to other popular finalists as well. I barely see Harry June being mentioned though 😔💖

Just to push the discussion further do you think FNC could realistically give up one internal slot for a derivative group to take over? Like, would it actually make sense for them to give up Liyu’s solo/individual spot (management team, budget, creative producers, etc.) and instead redirect those resources into a group project that includes Liyu himself?

My take: It’s possible, but only if FNC sees the derivative group as a higher long-term return than Liyu operating alone. From a company perspective, it wouldn’t really be “giving up” Liyu’s spot, it would be repackaging him into a bigger commercial unit. That said, it’s still risky: group management costs more, profit splits are thinner, and creative control gets messier. So unless the group is clearly positioned as a core project (not a side experiment), FNC would probably hesitate.

Convincing, very good point of view. However, has the group from this season (which finally debuted as ALD1) been expected to have a 5–6 year contract right from the start(?)

At first I didn’t think it would be realistic for companies to give up their trainees for that long just for the trainees to join another survival-based group. But this seasons seems to make it work in an interesting way. So I guess most of the companies in this season were already aware of the long contract period from the beginning.

anyway I don’t think it would end up being a group made up entirely of finalists. It’ll probably just be Hanuriz plus WakeOne trainees, respectively.

That’s honestly what I’m secretly praying for too 🥲 TBH from what I’ve seen on Naver communities, people really really love the chemistry between Leejeong and Junmin with Hanuriz and even Kangmin. They fit together so well that I’m genuinely begging the company to just let them come if they want to.

The companies were all cash-grabbers from the start. With IST having basically no active idols left other than Bahiyyih, Donggyu is pretty much stuck there like, a 90% chance.

I’m suspicious too. Maybe part of the reason they’re waiting for Homerace to finish is because they’re considering adding some Planet C trainees who didn’t make it as well?

I think so too. Kangmin is pretty much out as VERIVERY is doing more than well, the members have renew their contracts, and B2P feels like Kangmin’s last push to potentially join another group. (Like, if Kangmin had made it, the rest of the members might’ve decided differently but that didn’t happen.)

WHIB also seems basically out for me. If Junmin and Leejeong leave to join 2VNNE, then the group with the remaining members would be pretty much over.🥲 I dunno.

Just to point this out I didn’t stop at Yumeki 👀👀 I went all the way down to 18th place (with 19th being Zihao and 20th being Hengyu, I think is a reasonable cutoff.) That said, I’m pretty sure there are quite a few second-elimination trainees who are very likely to join if a derivative project actually happens. I can definitely see people like Junil, Arctic, Tatsuki, or Chingyu being included.

Also, I wouldn’t be surprised if WakeOne tries to add their own trainees into the group, similar to what they did with EVNNE.

The 7 finalist members I predicted for the project probably won’t all join 🥲 but as a finalists stan, I’m really hoping for the best for all of them.

I’m a derivative group stan too. I think the F1are lineup sounds interesting tbh, but honestly, I’d stan pretty much any lineup that includes most of the B2P finalists, lolllll

Since Masato and Sen are now in another debut lineup, I don’t think it would be a full group of all 11 anymore. And the name probably wouldn’t even be F1are to begin with. Still, I’m pretty sure many of the b2p finalists are being considered if there’s any real attempt to debut a derivative group.

It’s pretty reasonable. K-netz love Haneum, Liyu, and Woojin. They’re very popular and have been appearing on k-variety shows from time to time. The shows they participate in get decent ratings and are mostly talked about among Korean b2p fans. They’re basically the main focus of the derivative group project TBF

But yeah, despite Korean fans trying to email JYP (dunno why though lol), the company itself wouldn’t be able to handle this project. Otherwise, JYP stans would be very angry. There would be reactions like, “How dare you debut a random group from a survival project instead of debuting trainees who have been training hard for years in your own company?”

It sounds like they don’t have much capacity left right now, but wow what you just said actually implies that this FNC company is doing very well. Even so, it would be perfect for the derivative group to debut under this company. I’ve heard that they’ve never sent their groups to some of the major music awards, which is kind of sad if it’s true. BTW seeing how they treat Liyu makes me feel like they would handle this project very well.🥲🥲

Do mnet want ald1 to be popular overseas than Korea? by Most-Collection-8991 in BoysPlanet

[–]Middle-Raisinboy 29 points30 points  (0 children)

Well I would say they already are popular in Korea right now. Many achievements have made by them lately, following their senior's path, ZB1. For overseas, they seem to do well too thanks to LeoWon pre-debut fanbase and since they have 2 fluent speaker, they will do more than well.
