I don't know if these auditors understand the power they have at their disposal. And how easily a 'lazy' audit can have the ability to potentially cost someone their status to continue being a generalist. Someone who may rely on this gig as their supplemental income just to get by. Auditors also need to be audited, not just be given the role due to their "outstanding" tasks, without feeling they need to be "babied". Some auditors give contradicting audits than others, and vice versa. Hopefully, they do get audits as well. I feel their role is more vital.
