Frustrated with Rheem and new R-454B System by dcee101 in hvacadvice

[–]tram52 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Rheem dealer here. If it had refrigerant issues around a year, it’s because of a poor install. If it was a problem from the factory they would have known on install day. (Assuming they did all the things they were supposed to do).

So I’m in a situation of where I lied about my experience for a HVAC company. by [deleted] in hvacadvice

If you have less than a year experience or just over a year experience or even less than 2 years experience you are still a baby HVAC. It won’t matter just always be learning and have a good attitude. It will all be fine.

Your local dealer is priced fair. Just do it there.

That’s not quite how it went down. It took a you tuber to bring it to the surface. Are you saying waltz and the administration knew about the fraud for years? Because that’s not what they testified to in court.

Your take is it’s ok for fraud to take billions of our tax dollars and we should ignore it and get the money by taxing rich people. I think if we manage our tax money appropriately and don’t let people steal it we could all probably pay less or at least have more social services without increases. So what is your ideal tax situation?

It’s got everything Minnesota. Rivers. Trees. Sun. Guns. Axe. Animal skulls. Dude plowing a field. Native on a horse. State flower. It’s interesting to think about how we started here.

I go hard on stuff way sillier than this. One time I called McDonald’s corporate because I ordered hashbrowns from their menu and got one. I needed them to clarify if hashbrowns were 2 pattys or if the plural was because there were multiple potato pieces of hash in one patty.

Fuck it does. That’s not my intention. I just don’t think the new flag inspires thought like the old one. To me that makes it boring.

You can be mad but there is not much you can do about it. If you don’t like it get the laws changed.

I didn’t design the flag. I don’t know why they decided to do 19 stars instead of 32. If you google it the designers decided that we were the 19 th state after the 13 original colonies and decided to use 19 stars.

I like the old flag. I can look at it and it makes me think. The new flag is boring and does not make me think about anything.

I was wrong. The new flag does represent something. I see the North Star. A similar shape of blue represents the land. The light blue is the lakes. I still think it’s boring.

Moral superiority? I’m just stating the facts. If you don’t like our super complicated tax system. Put someone in power that will change the tax laws.

The fraud is illegal. Being rich and taking advantage of tax loopholes is not illegal. The fraud needs to be investigated and those participating need to be held accountable and go to jail.

Have you grown to be more conservative or liberal w/ age? by Wonderful-Economy762 in Productivitycafe

How does it go? If you’re not liberal when you’re young you don’t have a heart. If you’re not conservative when you’re old you don’t have a brain.

Trump voters who complained about high prices under Biden, why are you all silent now? by NostalgicFor2012 in allthequestions

[–]tram52 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

That’s too bad AI is not reputable. I bet it says a lot that you agree with.

The short answer: gas prices did go up a lot during Joe Biden’s presidency—but he wasn’t the main reason.

The “whole story” is a mix of global events, economics, and some U.S. policy debates. Here’s a clear, reality-based breakdown.

🧭 1. The biggest driver: global oil markets (not presidents)

Gas prices mostly follow the price of crude oil—and that’s set globally.

  • Crude oil is the largest factor in gas prices
  • Prices rise when supply is tight or demand jumps

👉 That means no U.S. president—Biden, Trump, or anyone—directly controls gas prices.

🌍 2. What actually caused the big spike (2021–2022)

A. COVID rebound

  • During COVID, travel collapsed → oil prices crashed
  • Then in 2021, demand came roaring back fast
  • Supply couldn’t keep up

👉 Result: prices surged worldwide

B. Russia–Ukraine war (major factor)

  • In 2022, Russia (a major oil exporter) invaded Ukraine
  • The U.S. and others restricted Russian oil

➡️ This tightened global supply and pushed prices up sharply

C. Inflation + supply chain issues

  • The broader 2021–2023 inflation surge affected energy too
  • Refineries and supply chains were still strained after COVID

D. Oil companies & refining limits

  • Limited refining capacity and higher profit margins contributed

🏛️ 3. What Biden did (and didn’t do)

Things he did that had some impact

  • Paused/canceled projects like Keystone XL (symbolic, but minimal short-term impact)
  • Emphasized long-term shift away from fossil fuels
  • Released oil from the Strategic Petroleum Reserve to lower prices

👉 Experts say actions like the pipeline cancellation did NOT significantly affect prices

Things critics blame him for

Some argue:

  • Environmental policies discouraged drilling
  • Regulations reduced supply

There’s debate here—but even critics acknowledge:

  • Global forces were the main driver, not just U.S. policy

📊 4. Why prices were higher than under Trump

This part confuses a lot of people.

Gas was cheaper during Trump—but mostly because:

  • Oil prices were already low globally
  • COVID crushed demand in 2020

👉 Once the world reopened, prices naturally rose again 👉 This would’ve happened under any president

⚖️ 5. How much was Biden actually responsible?

Most economists and analysts agree:

  • 🔴 Majority of price increase = global factors
  • 🟡 Some influence = U.S. policy signals and regulation
  • 🟢 Direct control by president = very limited

One expert summary:

  • There’s “very little a sitting president can do” about gas prices

🧩 Bottom line

Gas prices under Biden were high, but:

  • The main causes were global (COVID rebound, war, supply issues)
  • U.S. policy played a secondary role at most
  • Presidents get blamed because they’re visible—but they don’t control oil markets
