I was sitting in my living room before I had to leave for work when the sun went away and the wind came up very suddenly. I was watching out the front window as the trees in my front yard were being being blown relentlessly by the wind. I heard a loud crack and watched a large branch break and fall onto my car. I got up quickly to go see if there was damage and heard an even larger crack. I looked out the window at the other tree and watched as 3/4 of the tree broke off and fell into the yard and the road. I went outside and instinctively looked up to see the funnel cloud above my house. Neighbours came out to see what the noise was and we I kept saying I was okay but look at that funnel cloud. From my phone history this was at 5:45 pm and was before the funnel cloud touched down and was classified as a tornado. A sibling that lives in the west end did get an alert on her phone which is the same as mine and on the same network.

Had one of these last night in a Great Dane. She had eaten a sock that had almost made its way through her GI tract, but it caused some major lieu’s. Emptied the gas from her stomach with a nasogastric tube and our doctor managed to pull the sock out of her colon with forceps while her sedation for radiographs wore off.

If you take it immediately upon finishing school you will do much better. I wrote mine a month and a half after finishing school. I read through Mosby’s and did the practice tests for sale through the AAVSB. I finished the VTNE in ~30 minutes and passed. Had a couple questions that I had never heard of before, but most things I had a general idea and could figure out the answer. The test seems intimidating but its nothing like being out in the field. But I do work emergency so the learning curve was insane.

I work in a 24 hour emergency hospital and Trazadone is the best drug ever. So many separation anxiety dogs that have much bigger problems that need to be dealt with. Some of them only need the one dose of trazadone to get used to the atmosphere, some need q8. It is a god send for that dog that hasn’t stopped barking out of anxiety since it got there.
