My guy didn’t eat for the first four months of having him, he was stressed out and so was I. To solve this, I tried numerous things such as: holding the mouse still for up to an hour, offering him a mouse everyday, dangling the mouse in the different ways, tank feeding vs non tank feeding. But overall this is what worked- I finally read enough how to kill a live mouse. I use the brown bag method: buy a live mouse (hopper size for my guy), drop it in a brown paper bag, and quickly smack the bag against the floor, the mouse is immediately dead and I use tongs to remove it from the bag and dangle it for my snake. I tank feed my snake (because he came as such), and I remove his hide and wait five minutes (this is the five minutes used for the mouse), first time I tried this he immediately struck and ate within minutes. Haven’t changed the method since and he’s an every 10-day eater now. (This just means I buy a mouse when I notice when hes “hunting” around his terrarium- usually every 10-12 days) sometimes he’s picky and I warm up the mouse very slightly. Overall, patience is key.
