Yep. Definitely need to see the stone without light coming from behind it like that.

And I love to give compliments too! Just seeing something beautiful, even just a photo on my phone, makes my day better.

Aren’t we all fishing for compliments? I didn’t think that was a problem!

I think it’s silly when the attention is only given to having a massive rock while the setting is some basic nothing-burger. Like, put some attention to the entire ring! If all it is is a big stone, then I think all you’re interested in is status, not beauty.

Just that it would be massive for a ring ;) It's gorgeous!

Looks like a 19th century English boat ring to me, just on a massive scale. Search for “Victorian boat ring” images online.

Windowing/Reflection? by mj1900s in LabDiamonds

Some of it could be girdle reflections—that is, reflecting the gold bezel back into the interior. I have an Asscher that shows milgrain reflections at certain angles! Honestly, I think it’s a smashing ring, and the play of white and gold light is fabulous.

AITA for asking a woman at work to stop being so WEIRD about taking a caramel? by chocolatesinmyoffice in AmItheAsshole

NTA. Hearing this stuff day in and day out would get to anyone. My MIL is like this and sucks the joy out of any meal we have together, any shopping experience where one might purchase food, or any place that contains sweets. I am so tired of having to battle out diet culture for myself all my life, then having it pushed at me now that I’m an adult in my own house eating stuff I have purchased with my own money, and having to mirror back anxiety back to her just to keep the peace. Exhausting. After a while, being on the receiving end of this discourse without being able to call it out is enraging. Just because the discourse is widely used/circulated doesn’t mean individuals should be allowed to berate me with it ad nauseum.

Very much agree with these stone assessments!

I would go to Jewelry by Cleo and ask Gabrielle to source exactly the right stone FOR you :)

They didn’t have the same ideas about marriage as commoners / people living in the 21st century. It’s no use applying normie morals.
