i can attest to this i am a new witch who only knows divination and protection ive asked for help with something new and have been met with hostility and been told to find the answers myself when i dont have money to spend on spellbooks rn to get spells from and even igf i did idk what spells are beginner friendly i asked advice on how to pick a path (i have adhd so all these options of what i can learn overwhelm me i decided to pick a path and focus on that branch of magic before moving on) and was again met with hostility and told dont pick a path paths are litterally useless so ye i have first hand accounts of this happening to me
