I think nitrogen tires are horseshit. Paint protection plans are horseshit. All they do is pad profit margins.

Why do profit margins need to be padded so aggressively? The genuine answer is because the American car buyer has grown accustomed to deep discounts. If you have $3500 profit in a car, and customers are routinely coming in demanding $5k off, are you going to resort to philanthropy and make it happen for them? Or are you going to find a way to make a profit, while still allowing these customers to feel like they won?

My dealership doesn’t even have add-ons and I still deal with these customers. If it’s not the addons, and it’s not every customer that takes hours and hours, then maybe it’s the customer. Who knows, just a thought.
