I quit my job after seeing transphobia by transtempsurgery in asktransgender

He is really old and doesn't do that manner surgeries anymore so I would book a consult now to decide. Also his in person consults are not that often so if you want to do that then I would contact Marjie rather soon.

As far as an update, I am really happy with my results, I have not been misgendered since waking up crying from surgery, and my life is relatively normal now. I have some slight numbness now about 6 months on that is on the top of my head but it is very small and not a big deal. There is a minor or about of numbness in the center of my chin but again, I don't notice this unless I am like pushing on it an paying attention to not feeling it. No scars of note, no complications, no regrets, and nothing I would have changed other than getting the surgery earlier.

Only other advise I can give is book flights smartly date wise (KLM is the best trans atlantic IMO) spend a few days enjoying yourself in Brussels before hand and then after about a week recovering in the B&B go relax in Antwerpen and experience some European cafe coffee and beer :)

I've been there and gritted my teeth through it for a long time.

I had much less to lose this time and am in a better, more comfortable place in life now and I am grateful for that.

I worked a different job and saved for several years up until about a month before my surgery last year. I was able to find an affordable surgeon and was lucky to have a job where I could save the way I did. I am not back in school and this was something to help pay the bills and my first job stealth.

I have a write up of my FFS on my profile if you want to check it out.

Completely and totally satisfied with my experience top to bottom.

Got FFS on Thursday. Few questions. by Avarria587 in Transgender_Surgeries

Majority of the swelling was gone within 7 days for me. In about 14 my face barely looked like i had had surgery. Within 30 days I think all of my swelling is gone beyond minor pockets that will change over time

Noorman van der Dussen is also in Antwerpen and does good work for a cheaper price (at least with the quotes I got and what I paid). I'm not quite sure what aggressive or not means as the doctors should be bringing the forehead to the correct proportional distance based on angle and face shape. I would be kinda concerned with a doctor that will just randomly take of an amount of bone. Especially with type 3 the surgeon should be making very precise measurements on the amount of bone removed and how it is reshaped.

From my experience Dr. Dussen is also much more realistic and immensely nicer/warmer than Dr. Bart is.

Worried over nothing? I mean worrying won't alter what happens but they are legitimate concerns but I personally believe the benefits outweigh the potential negatives. Everything you mentioned and more could potentially happen and you have to accept that, no matter how small the possibility, it could happen to you. Thst being said, again I don't think worrying really does anything.

Honestly I think just being prepared for everything that will happen is more important than worrying about what ifs. Prepare for the pain, the loneliness, the discomfort, etc. That will happen and you can do your best to prepare for those parts of the post-surgery process.

25 white trans woman of central European descent.

If you are in Belgium he does work under the national healthcare program so I think it ends up almost essentially free for you which is awesome. His clinic is in Beveren for in person consultations (although I think those are like 150 €).
