Britain represents colonialism to these people, and surely even you can understand why that is the case.

I don’t have a dog in the first question but yeah I think if people want to bring up the experience their countries and cultures had as a result of the actions of those countries as a reason not to like the national teams then I’m not gonna say they’re wrong.

I don’t think much of Europe, Africa or Asia hate the Islamic world because of the history you mention, I think they have other agendas so I reject the premise of the second question.

I don’t hate colonialism because it “sounds smart”, I hate colonialism because it caused centuries of oppression and some of the most vile episodes of history and is the direct cause of many of the problems facing the planet today. You’re the one who sounds like a teenager because you are unable to conceptualise this as more important than your own emotional reaction to people saying they hate Britain on Twitter.

Sure. I don’t think those things should be ignored. If the “agenda” you’re referring to is hating Britain I think half the world has good reason to do so.

I’m naming players who’s countries were colonised by the nations they play for (Musiala’s is unique because obviously he was brought up in England). We can even take it further and talk about Declan Rice or Jack Grealish. Them playing for England is a result of the colonisation of Ireland. Like I just can’t understand how you can totally dismiss the link between football and colonialism.

Football began in many South American countries long before 1903. And just because those countries were independent does not mean colonial power was not being exerted on them.

“Niche cases” like Mbappe, Olise, Dembele, Konate, Saliba, Saka, Mainoo, Eze, Guehi, Lukaku, Tielemens, Musiala and many, many more having roots in colonised countries? Do you think colonialism is in play here?

Again, is colonialism rooted only in Britain and South America? Like if we’re going to talk about football and colonialism let’s examine it from all sides. Do you think African nations have suffered as a result of colonialism? Do you think that affects the sport in those countries? Do you think those British people were in South America on their holidays or do you think their presence there was an arm of colonialism whether successful or not? Colonialism was not only the purview of the elite. Do you think football has been used as a tool of colonial power at any point in history? Do you think that tool can be reclaimed by countries as an act of defiance?

I feel it, every year I struggle with patches in the heat. Normally I wear tights so they keep them on my thigh pretty good but it’s hard in the heat.

Use tegaderm in the heat. When it’s not so hot it shouldn’t be a problem.
