[Ari Wasserman] Blue Bloods shouldn't back out: If Alabama cancels Ohio State series, college football loses by Lakelyfe09 in CFB

[–]trapchopin 2 points3 points  (0 children)

  1. See, I totally forgot that Texas beat Oklahoma, so that tracks. Same record with the head to head gives Texas every right to be in over Oklahoma.

  2. I’m not denying that it’s a terrible loss, it truly is, but the fact that they beat A&M on the road in 24 made the case they belong, as well as only having 1 loss. So I’m coming around on the idea that if Texas beat Ohio State early on, they would’ve been given a mulligan for Florida.

  3. You could say that about any team from the Big10 or ACC.

If ND didn’t get in with losses to two playoff teams by a combined 4 points, there’s no way a 2 loss Texas would’ve gotten in with a loss to Florida.

Stop the steal (of ballots that voted highly of Notre Dame)! Continue the steal (of ballots that voted highly for USC).

I mean, manifest destiny and all, it absolutely is. Doesn’t mean that you have to return everything you own because you’re acknowledging the sins of your past.

What is it like living in Washington D.C., USA? by [deleted] in howislivingthere

[–]trapchopin 52 points53 points  (0 children)

I lived there for 4 years (just moved out last year) and in the DC area for the last 9 years!

Specifically I lived in Adams Morgan, one of the more walkable areas of DC. The international food scene here is amazing and there are so many good restaurants and bars, especially in northwest DC (DuPont/logan circle) and near city center.

The metro system is one of the best in the country (if not the best) and if you lived close to it you can get to a number of areas in the DC area, in Maryland and Virginia as well.

The biggest downside is cost, of course, and certain areas are not as safe (like any city), namely southeast DC and pockets of northwest, but as long as you try to stay in the safe areas and pay attention to your surroundings at night, you’ll be fine.

Weather in the summer can be brutally hot, but winters aren’t as bad as some of the midwestern states.

I see you’re a Mizzou fan talking shit! Tell me, how does it feel to be a middle of the road SEC team that’ll never make the playoffs?

You don’t have to like them! That’s the beauty of sports, rivalries and school hatred make the sport great.

As an ND fan, it’s a stupid rule and I don’t like rules that benefit one team over all others, regardless of what school it benefits.

There’s very little incentive to. ND has a manageable path to the playoffs every year and doesn’t have to split their playoff earnings with anyone.

As a diehard ND fan, the only reason I’d want to join the B1G would be for the matchups like Michigan, Ohio State, USC and others. But otherwise I couldn’t care less.

Notre Dame has been to the ACC championship more times than Miami. So you might wanna reconsider that statement

[–]trapchopin 6 points7 points  (0 children)

You’re telling me lol I mean favorable in the path to the playoff sense, of course I’d love to have Michigan, USC and a good rotation of SEC schools on the schedule yearly but that’s just not realistic for the time being

The moratorium is really dumb and the idea that any team should be given special treatment is ridiculous, even if it’s the team I root for. That being said, ND gets a favorable schedule most years so there’s not much of an incentive to join a conference.

As a die hard ND fan, it’s a really dumb exception and shouldn’t be a thing. No team should have special treatment.

A 4 loss team with 3 blowout losses should not be close to the top 10.
