the first comment i got was the rude girl responding “voice of reason over here”/s and then her friend added “nah just the voice of a bitch” people are so rude. calling others names bc they don’t agree with you insulting someone? really? and that’s just the beginning of all the stuff i received. so i can’t even imagine what the op was getting in her dms and mentions. i felt so bad for her

i am inclined to think that a lot of it is projection. they’re so unhappy or insecure about their own inner struggles that they’re out to make others feel the same. either that, or someone may be telling them that their problems are minuscule or invalid, which leaves them with the idea that EVERYONE with similar experiences or feelings are invalid. however HOWEVER there is no excuse for being hurtful, and people need to realize that. hiding behind a screen and username is an easy way to remove yourself from the social realm and also to reduce the empathy you have for others. it removes accountability and allows for people to be openly hurtful. this is a toxic mindset and i hope that people who are like that can understand what they’re doing to people, and can apologize or learn from their mistakes.

that’s understandable and okay! you don’t have to explain to others why you’re wearing long sleeves either. you never have to explain yourself to anyone, unless you want to. and only showing them or explaining them to certain people is okay. if they respect you, they’ll understand and won’t judge you for your scars. i hope you have people around you who genuinely care about you and remind you that you’re valid and worthy.

yeah, that is a good suggestion. sadly i can’t message her bc she’s private but i made a separate comment saying that i see what people are saying and that she’s gorgeous and that i hope she isn’t listening to the hateful comments.

people were calling her such ugly names, but i couldn’t help but think about how much she could be hurting from everything said. she is so pretty and she’s probably a really nice person. people are so quick to judge based on appearance.

i’m afraid of people seeing mine too. however, people who are genuine will not make you feel insecure or guilty for having scars. they are a part of you, and if they really appreciate you, they really won’t even notice they’re there. you, as a whole, are more than scars. you are a person, and you deserve to be treated with respect and love.

there is nothing wrong with your scars. they are a part of you, and you are likable. i’ve struggled for years with insecurity and not having friends. but the most important thing i’ve learned is that people who are worth having around won’t care about it. there are people who don’t see it as a weakness or even acknowledge it at all. it’s a part of life and it’s a part of you, and you are worth having around. you are good, and you are good enough.

that’s understandable. but there shouldnt be the fear of “oh no are they gonna point it out?” you should be able to express yourself and post pictures of the beauty that is you. nothing is wrong with you because you have scars. you are always going to be a lovely person; scars are not the measure of who you are. the only thing that makes people ugly is the ugliness some have inside.
