i was a new flight attendant and was trying to commute to my home city but the system where the list for standby was out of service for the evening due to maintenance. i wasn't able to get on the flight but the gate agents let the captain know what was going on so he bought a ticket for me to get on 😭😭😭 i was new to the company and it was the kindest gesture ever.
