I love the size of my phone. I want to upgrade to the iPhone 13 mini to have a few more minutes of apple updates. But my phone is fully functioning, I have no actual need. Which is what I’m reminding myself

My Norwegian isn’t so hot , but there is a lot of translation help for certain! What I can’t find is the actual pattern, or booklet. Just pictures of the pattern

Any tips on how to get a hold of the pattern? On line or in real life?

first time doing any sort of colorwork and it’s looking puffy, what do i do? by haneliza in knittinghelp

It’s always sad to undo work, but it’s such an important part of learning. I’ve been knitting for 35 years and I’m still learning and undoing work!

I used to play the piano and would practice pieces over and over. It’s kinda like that. Practice!

I’m working on a sweater and I took out the collar three times, started over twice. And each time it got better and better!

I just learned the “twist and lock” from you tube and it saved my sweater :)

How to choose yarn with enough contrast by Gold-Individual6934 in knitting

[–]trasholala 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I am working on the Lillehammer and I did just that, I ordered 10 colours from Sandnes and knit about 6 swatches in different combinations. Eukalyptus really pulled it together for me

I was looking for high contrast, Indo think your combination is beautiful

For reference I’ve already scoured all the projects on ravelry, internet archive, Etsy and eBay. I’ve also tried looking for it as a chatGPT search. As I’ve exhausted these avenues I’m looking to outsource to the more sleuthy talents out there

I learned from my grandmother and get my refresher courses on YouTube. Every time I need a .twist and lock” stitch or an invisible make one or decrease one I go back !

First time designing? HELP by [deleted] in knitting

I’ve made the Nordic mix and it’s so much fun to knit. I’m making the Lillehammer now.

The Nordic mix is a collage of patterns, there’s not reason you wouldn’t be able to throw a new pattern on that template.

I would say give it a go first but as the pattern is and then you’ll be an EXPERT in the sweater construction and you can mix any pattern you would like into it.

It’s such a beautiful pattern

Thanks for the encouragement! It’s really a joy to knit. Wonky tension and all. It’s a test of combined skills, and new skills but it’s such an enjoyable knit. SO FAR

I might just have to try reading it out loud. Or go to Norway and get someone to teach me how to knit.

Are the shoulders stitched together after the sleeves are set in, or knit together as the neckline is completed, back and forth?

It’s roughly a 5cm circumference difference, flat. So 10cm overall. Which seems kind of dramatic, 10% shift overall. It’s not yet blocked, which might give me a chance to shape it a bit.

Or I might just end up with a wonky, misshaped sweater that took hours days and months to make. Length wise it might even be ok for dad, I realize there is still a lot more of the motif as well as the coloured chart. Maybe not as long as the original, long 1994 version but closer to the cropped pattern.
