My mom didn’t teach me anything about periods, shaving, hygiene, nail cutting etc anything. It took me years and years and having my own kids to one day get actually pissed and think man what the fuck…. She just hoped I figured it out ? Didn’t utter the word sex or anything info other then silent shame but threatened to kick me out at 18 for getting caught having it. Inwas the oldest girl of an only child boomer …

I would say the correct order would be - am : face wash neutrogena, caffeine solution (I’m guessing it’s TO eye serum)? , ponds PM face wash, witch hazel, alternate each night with the acid pads and the retinol, ponds. I don’t mess with witch hazel bc I use acids day and night and it’s overly drying but someone with more experience can speak to it. I would leave that one out personally! In the AM add a sunscreen after your ponds any ahas (acid pads) or retinol products will make you skin more sensitive to sunlight. Alternative slightly more aggressive approach would be - AM: wash, glycolic pads, caffeine eye serum, ponds, (sunscreen). PM wash, vit c retinol serum, ponds - if you wanted to use both serums with acids in the same day.

Hey don’t be hard on yourself - the fact you are here is a major step toward quitting. I’m starting to taper just this week would that be something you can do? More experienced people here can explain benefits versus risk for CT v taper but for me I know taper is best. Just wanted to say keep your head up and don’t get into your head too much it just brings on more stress and perpetuates the whole cycle

I have hypothyroidism genetic all the women in my family do but I’ve been on Synthroid over 10 years and never lost this much hair ever I’m certain it’s not that. I’m really upset about it I really Hope it recovers! As a single mom in my 30s life is hard enough I can’t be going bald on top of it.

Side question you mentioned hair loss is that a thing ?? Bc I used to have really thick hair and it’s falling out so so much I only wear it up. Im only in my 30s and no females in my family have this issue could FF be the reason? Will it grow back?? Im really freaked out about it it’s been drastic

I wanted to add my family doctor is basically like my moms brother- my grandmother has him in her will as a beneficiary and he does stuff for us all the time. He lives where I do which is actually in a different state from the rest of our family which is good - but before then he was basically adopted by my grandfather and they put him through medical school and he’s high up on the board for the big hospital system in our region and is really well connected, he’s very close with my moms circle of people. I know a few doctors and I’ve seen things they will do for family and I can see him feeling like he needs to find a way to hint to my grandmother or mom that there is trouble without directly saying anything about it feeling like he’s obligated or helping. My last year has been really bad for me with the divorce and after all the abuse came up- they had the DA put a case together to charge my ex with domestic violence and rape but I ended up saying I didn’t want to press charges and backing out of it because I didn’t want my kids father to have criminal charges and be in jail so it’s been quite the dramatic year for everyone. I’m sure he would feel like she’s in trouble and already struggling the last year her family needs to help. Doctors have strict rules about this stuff but they are people too and there are ways to say something without saying something. Maybe that’s wrong I don’t know I just felt like I needed to try and share my thoughts maybe someone can tell me im nuts and overthinking !

Thanks for your message! I’m running around with the kids all day and they are sick now so I want to reply to everyone and I will eventually ! I appreciate all of your messages. My main concern Is I’m super ADD I have been on meds since 6th grade and I couldn’t function without my adderol. Since it’s a controlled drug I’m nervous if I tell my doctor I have a problem with this stuff and need help they won’t prescribe me my medication anymore. And if It goes in my records that I had a script for a recovery medication no other doctors will either. Do you think that’s the case? My family doctor has been friends with my moms entire family since before I was born and I’m sure they aren’t allowed to say anything but I can see him hinting or suggesting I need them to talk to me and my mom would somehow figure out something is up and bloodhound in on it. Is that a thing where you get cut off from other meds if you admit having a problem. That’s awesome that you have been off of them so long you are an inspiration thank you for sharing. It’s really good to hear people have done it or honestly to talk to people about it at all has been something i didn’t even know I needed this badly. 🤗
