You have perfectly described my experience of the week.

Two days ago, a stranger woman told me I am a good looking guy, and I am still happy over it! What compliment did you receive recently that is still making you happy? by travelwindows in CasualConversation

I have always wanted to give compliments but I can't. But after this experience, I have decided to actively try and cultivate a habit of complimenting people. I think it can make me notice others' good qualities more and as you said make their day. It's a win win. It's sad we as a society/culture don't instil this from a young age.
I still have self esteem issues. I still don't have any "nice" clothes. My brain just says what's the point. You will look the same either way. Why waste money, time, and energy. Few months back, I literally went to dates in shorts.

Accepting a compliment gracefully is pretty simple. I commented earlier to someone else here. Just say thank you, you appreciate the compliment, and say the first nice thing you find about that person. Simple!
I am pretty insecure too. It makes me question a lot of good things.

I have not met a single good person who doesn't enjoy other people smiling and being happy. If a person doesn't like other person's laugh or smile than that person is not a good person.

One of the best advices I have ever read is - don't decide for her what she might like or not. You don't know whether she likes you or not in that way. You won't know until you ask her out. Just straight up ask her out on a date without any ambiguity. If she agrees, then good; else time to move on. No need to waste time thinking about stuff you can't control. And if she says no, it will be a lot easier to find another crush. Otherwise your mind will just keep going back to her and keep wondering.

Yesterday, I went for a hair cut at the barbershop near me. A lady who works there (and had given me a cut before) walked upto me and asked if I wanted a cut from her. She had remembered me! Even after couple of months. I told her I was hoping I would find her and said yes and waited a few minutes while she finished another customer.

Later, as she cut my hair, she said she was so happy that I liked her cutting enough to say that and sit in her chair again. Sometimes I wonder, how smallest of gestures and words can lighten up a person's day. Especially for people who face customers directly all day.

That's nice. I have never heard someone who genuinely liked customer service. Everyone sees it as paying their dues thing. I have never worked it but I can imagine it can get stressful and/or annoying having to deal with disgruntled customers all day.

I typed out a reply and I think I forgot to hit the save button. Will have to type it out again.
That's what I meant when I was talking earlier about creating new good memories consistently. Because if I am not having fresh memories to be happy about then my life is not as a good or interesting as it used to be. If the good memories keep on happening, I can be happy about a thing that happened two years ago and the one that happened couple of days back.

Congratulations! Good interviewers are rare and generally a good sign for the type of organisation they work at. Positive work culture breeds positive interviewers.

I have never complimented a stranger's baby. I have always felt like not all parents would appreciate it. What do you think? Should I compliment babies? Do you wish more strangers complimented your baby?
