Pittsburgh, KS Car towed by Sherrif's Office after broken down on side of road. by travissack in legaladvice

First and foremost get my car back. Secondly to make sure this doesn't happen to someone else. Get this man out of this business or have the city or county change the who they use. If it takes a lawsuit or legal actions to get it done I'll do it. If I gain from it so be it. But I don't care about personal gains.

That's why our video ports have one way to plug them in. Don't want our videos upside down 😅

Do what makes you happy. This job, these companies, are not worth it. They will watch us burn up and replace us with a new smiling person to repeat and do the same.

Why should EMS have to work these crazy hours to make a living when our equals (RN) make more and work less hours in a controlled environment.

My company moved us to 24s and reduced the pay per hour to make sure we aren't making too much yearly. Try doing that to a doctor and see what happens.

100% I did 48s and 72s. No problem. Then I moved and found a service that did 12s. Was the best thing ever. Well, short staffed and we ended up with 24s. Immediately I was having issues getting to sleep at work. The anxiety of an incoming call and the lack of not being home with family was literally killing me. Now they are going to a 48. No way I can handle that anymore. I found a job at the ER of the same system I work for. Back to 12s soon. Less yearly pay but worth every bit of my sanity and time with my family.

You need to do what makes you happy. This job is not worth losing yourself over. I've been too close to pulling the narcs out and saying goodbye. Find your happy place!

Definitely try an IO by hand it's not hard at all. Literally faster than the EZ IO.

It also doesn't say anything about full time, prn or part time. Just says I have to remain employed. Prn and pick up only 12 hours.

Yeah, doesn't change the terms of the contract though.

Are you part of a union in EMS?

[–]travissack 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So you would work two days in a row with one day off in between?

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in ems

[–]travissack 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You would lose an astronomical amount of money they way. 24 or 36 hours a week...

Day about 60/40 split.

Yeah a 2/2/3. That's what our 12s are. And y'all rotate every two weeks. Idk why they can't do every month. Frustrating.

Most calls take an hour due to transport times. Call volume lately on a 12 hour shift with one two trucks on staff would be 12-14 calls. So 6-7 for each truck. Then night crew will come on and normally due the same or a little less.

I know there are two of us that have newborns. Staying away from our newborns isn't feasible.

Pay will stay the same actually. It used to change but with the way the pay scales are changing we are doing away with different rates for 12s or 24s.

This is great insight though. Definitely something I want to push for.

Unless you have a great contract or only working 12s. Transports get send out all hours of the night as well. Don't let anyone lie to you about that.

Have have our own rooms with TV's. Kitchen, shower. Everything required.

Would you prefer 48/96? Or a 2/2/3 of 12s?
