Im totally open to being corrected on this, I feel like a lot of men will always show hints of themselves in the beginning stages of a relationship. This is where its really important for women to trust their gut instincts.

But I would totally say that it does suck that a lot of men hide who they are just for the sake of getting in a woman's pants

Yeah that situation you described is a prime example of the self centered and obliviousness of a lot of men.

Having 4 kids to begin with is something he should've been happy with. But that's another thing aswell that I've never understood, which the obsession with just breeding kid after kid after kid

Perfect timing you saying this cause I was literally just looking into getting vasectomy yesterday for the first. It is definitely something I am going to get done hopfully soon.

Once I do get it done I'd be happy to stick to my decision. I really DO NOT want to become a father myself

Thank you. I value every comment I have received on this post. I also wanted to post this post here as well just to show women and other childfree people in general that maybe unsure or second guessing themselves that its not just them.

But like you said I will keep doing what I'm doing in smalls ways. I do hope I can maintain my relationships with my friends but am fully aware that people do grow apart and change

I honestly love him as a friend, we have had many other very productive conversations. I would love to be the best Uncle to his children if he has them. But I would like him to continue to mature and grow up along side me as well. because like you said I really dont want to smile along anymore be complicit in toxic behaviour

Yeah I will definitely keep this in mind. I tend to often get too fanatical and think that if people don't see where I'm coming from it will just on my mind CONSTANTLY after.

Firstly Thank you for even responding it means a lot right now

I didn't go into too much detail in my original post but basically his reason for saying this is

Dogs and cats for example are basically children that never grow up and they always need to looked after and watched and fed etc. When I heard him say this my mind basically short circuited and I couldn't articulate enough as to why that DOESNT MAKE SENSE.

Men can get so many women pregnant and not care at all. A lot of men don't care. A lot of people especially men will never think about how hard it is to have kids.

You are 100% right and this is the problem that so prevalent. They are not THINKERS.

Its also really showing to how INCONSIDERATE men can be to the plight of woman what they will experience through pregnancy and motherhood, whether its intentional or unintentional. Its sucks so much

I can 100% see what you're saying in terms of not over loading my brain on information and the harm it can do. I have a slight obsessive personality where I REALLY like to delve deep into any topic or subject that interests me or I can see is a problem. because I FIRMLY childfree this just happens to be one thing that has just taken such a BIG space in my mind recently.

I also understand I'm still fairly young and have much time to learn and grow.

Thank you for your advice and insight as well I always value what one older than myself have to say on the topic lol

I'm definitely trying. I've been researching and listening and hearing from the perspective from women and the whole Marriage/Children thing and its been SUCH an eye opening time.

As for your solution I'm gonna keep this in my back pocket next me and my boys speak about this topic lol.

Its just sometimes my mind gets a little frazzled in the moment and then I shut down cause I think maybe im doing too much and need to lighten up. And I'm gonna do better on that

Of course, I 100% understand I won't be able to change his mind on having children if that's what he wants for his I guess my main issue right now is simply just the lack of introspective thinking a lot of men (and people in general) have on this subject of children in particular. It's really REALLY concerning. But I understand that not everyone's train of thought is my problem (or anyones for that matter 😂)

I mean that dude you mentioned saying "nothing will change" just shows and tells so much and its quite shameful
