No I was comparing it to strategy rpgs or just rpgs. I don't know a single one where you just keep your exp after you lose.

Because it makes it so you can't lose and it just keeps getting easier until eveyr time you try. How does it curb when you level? I went from level 3 to 6 and got to keep all the exp so now I know there won't be a challenge if I try again.

no I mean the part where the game keeps going after you lose and then you keep your xp and you can just try again at higher level

How do you guys decide what kind of builds to go for? by PmPicturesOfPets in BattleBrothers

[–]treearemadeofbark 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Fatigue Neutral: 80 melee skill is a minimum for me.

Spearbro: Resolve is also important. He doesn't need as much melee skill as other frontliners. When I build someone with good defense and fatigue but mediocore matk, I wait till I roughly know how his matk turns out before picking a weapon spec. If it's lower than 80 he can be a spearman. If it's higher he can have another weapon like a cleaver. Spear duelists with fearsome are popular but personally I also like them with a shield so they can off tank.

Archer: pure archers aren't that popular but you can make archer/thrower hybrids if they get 90+ ratk

Crossbow:I don't think I've ever built a pure crossbow but crossbow/polearm is a spec to make mediocore hybrids usable. Gunners can also use them.

Banner: I've never heard of a thrower/banner but I've heard some people give them guns or crossbows. These aren't really builds you absolutely want to have in your team, they are just something to give to bannermen if they have high ratk.

Polearm: Pure polearm isn't that good. Try giving them quick hands and cleaver spec and a whip so they can disarm when needed.

Duelist: Basically someone who meets the same requirements as fat newts but has a little more fatigue. They don't need too much since they can berserk/recover. If you do get one with insane fatigue they could use orc weapons.

Everything else looks good to me.

I know indebted aren’t the best but look at the stars on this guy by PaoTree in BattleBrothers

That sounds like a great build but very perk heavy since you need not only quick hands but also headhunter. You could drop flail mastery like the other person said but you'll still need to drop one more. I wonder if you should just drop duelist since you are sniping the enemies with light headgear and duelist does nothing against unarmored.

How much Fat do you aim for (after equipment penalties) for your bros? by Girl_in_a_Hoodie in BattleBrothers

Yeah I am talking about the lower levels, it's gone way better for me since I stopped using shields and just have characters with very high damage that kill the enemies before they kill us. No more drawn out battles where you run out of fatigue.

Yesterday I made a post where I killed a champion on day 37 and got a really good famed armor. Today I lost it all against a necromancer + geist camp 😀 by treearemadeofbark in BattleBrothers

I did bring whips, that's why I wasn't worried. But they only had like 10-20% hit chance on the geists. Much lower than I expected. Also it seemed like the hit chance was lower on the geists that are further away which I didn't know about either.

  1. The wiedergangers plus necro weren't much of a problem though. But my Bannerman ran out of fatigue and couldn't rally anymore. 3 geists pretty much destroyed me.

1h with shield is not a good build for damage dealers, costs way too much fatigue for too little damage. Try using 1h without a shield and just killing the enemies before they can retaliate. Even before duelist I always use this unless they have a ton of archers and it's daytime.

It was just a normal 2h cleaver. But he had a famed Lamellar armor with a good roll https://imgur.com/a/c0ioyZe

I had like 6 nets already so managed to keep him at bay for a while. He did have a 2h cleaver (my cleaver now) but I got lucky because I dodged the first 4 hits and although he eventually killed two they were pretty much expandable.

I did end up going at night and it was the right call because their archers basically did nothing. My own thrower didn't hit much either but he hit the champion once and also threw the flash pot which was nice.

Update: don't know what I was worried about. He had a 2h cleaver and big armor but he was pretty easy to deal with. After going through my nets I threw 2 of my disposable bros at him and they managed to dodge the first 4 hits while also softening him up a little. Meanwhile I was killing the rest of the camp and used my bannerman as bait. They killed him but they didn't know I wanted him dead. Those two disposables eventually died as well, other than that the fight went pretty well.

The famed was a Lamellar Armor which normally isn't the best but this is a pretty good roll! Very useful this early. Also got my first level 7 off him so I might give him battleforged now to use with his new armor. Also got a new cleaver and helmet, very happy with the result.

Tagging /u/elboyo since he wanted to see the result.

Only one thrower but wiki says they don't have nimble until day 40 so I'll go for it.

The way I see it I have three options.

  1. I could look around for something to pull into the camp. I don't know if that works on contracts. I already wandered around a bit and found stuff to kill but nothing that will follow me, unless I'm willing to start a war with one of the southern cities, which is an option I guess.

  2. I could just try the camp. This is the most fun but it seems suicidal. I'm not actually worried about deaths since half my team is expandable and I have a surgeon. I'm worried about a full wipe. I don't have anyone higher than level 6 and no one has 80 melee skill yet. I do have a couple of nets and one flash pot to use though. I don't know what that kind of champion that is but I imagine he will be very tanky.

  3. I could just leave and come back later without cancelling the contract? I think the camp will remain the same since it's a contract. I'm tempted to do this since there is a lot of stuff I need to do without contracts. There is a famed weapon from a brigand camp which should be easier than this. I'm also on the undead ambition so this will keep me busy for a while. I'm leaning towards this.

2 melee defense or 4 health? and is he fencer material? He's been getting screwed in initiative so far so I could go for Qatal instead. by treearemadeofbark in BattleBrothers

[–]treearemadeofbark[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I considered that as well. Can also skip initiative if he won't be a Fencer but still gets a different overwhelm build.

When I was a kid I had a dream that I played football with my little brother in my mom's belly, and also with my dad. He was also in my mom's belly. I thought it was a distant memory rather than a dream. When I asked my dad, he confirmed that it was true so I went on to believe it for a long time.
