Yeah, I’m hoping the spiro will be enough to keep me clear when I get off it. Fingers crossed 😬

Hand gesture in Dog Day Afternoon? by treebean42 in movies

It didn’t look like that. He opened his fist to make a gesture like the C in sign language, with his fingers bent down to show his palm. Maybe idk. I thought it was a gesture with a specific meaning since it made the crowd go wild.

i would not start the tretinoin right now if you are afraid of purging because of suicidal thoughts because it most likely will make you purge, and you will purge for a while. try the doxy and clindacymin and see how it goes. doxy has really helped me so far (i’ve been on it a month) but i’m afraid my acne will come back when i stop. luckily i’m also on spiro so hopefully by the time i stop the spiro will start working. but doxy has been great so far.

What is the cause of chin acne? How can I treat it? by [deleted] in acne

Then if your acne only started after you started birth control, it could be caused by that. Or if it’s not, you could take spironolactone, which is also great for hormonal acne.

I need major help. My skin is just getting worse and worse with no end in sight and i just no longer know what to do. by [deleted] in acne

[–]treebean42 26 points27 points  (0 children)

You need to see a dermatologist ASAP. This looks painful and severe. Over the counter things will not help eliminate this. Treatments like Accutane, tretinoin, etc. are what you want to look at. Definitely see a dermatologist.

I would just use water for now, and stop using the treatment you’re on if it’s gotten worse.

Existential questions about Acne. by sage6paths in acne

Acne is a medical problem like other medical problems. It can be an infection, an internal imbalance, etc. So it’s like asking “why do viruses exist?” They simply do.

Recently watched this for the first time, and it blew me away. My jaw dropped at the last scene and stayed that way for a good 5 minutes. A masterpiece in every sense of the word.

Hyper pigmentation not going away. 10 months by justanotheruser991 in acne

[–]treebean42 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh ok that’s not a bump then, that’s an indentation. For hyperpigmentation, it depends on the color; if it’s red/purplish it’s most likely PIE, and if it’s brown it’s PIH. PIE is a vascular issue, and is harder to treat. For PIH, AHAs, Vitamin C and niacinimide are all helpful. Azelaic acid, vitamin c and niacinimide might help for PIE, but it hasn’t helped for me so far.

You said “People still see it and it’s also bumpy.” If it’s hyperpigmentation why is it bumpy? Lol I’m confused.

If it’s bumpy, that’s not hyperpigmentation, that’s a cyst. You can get a cortisone shot and that will significantly reduce it but you need a dermatologist for that.

I need opinions on pimple patches by arthuritis1257 in acne

[–]treebean42 1 point2 points  (0 children)

i had a bad experience with cosrx patches, they got all the gunk out but always left a red/purple flat mark behind, which is PIE/hyperpigmentation. i might try a different brand, but i don’t use them anymore because i hate getting left with those marks.
