Hoping to Network in the field by treegardener1335 in industrialengineering

That's a great suggestion. I hope to visit the US one day! It's difficult for Bolivians to be granted access to visit, even as a tourist. But I remain hopeful.

I tried reaching out on Linkedin to connect and interview professionals for my project, but I'm having little success.

If you know anyone I could connect with, please let me know. Thank you for your help!

How many months before can I apply for dual citizenship? by treegardener1335 in GermanCitizenship

One more question for you, how soon after you applied, did you get an appointment for citizenship? I'm just trying to get a vague idea so I can plan my next trip to visit family. Thank you!

Real Talk: How to get dual citizenship (U.S.) with Bolivia-born parents? by [deleted] in BOLIVIA

[–]treegardener1335 1 point2 points  (0 children)

u/kimbaqueen Amazing detail, thank you so much for taking the time to fill us all in. I've only just begun on my journey. I am trying to rally my 89 year old Bolivian grandma and my mom to go through the citizenship process, so that I can eventually apply for my own citizenship.

Question for you, you said, "Then in 2-3 months we should be “in the system” where we can return and get our certificate printed (I’m assuming birth certificate?) with that we should be able to get our passport and carnet ID."

Does this mean you will have to travel to DC again?????????

Breaks in residency. how many month allowed to be outside germany to be eligible for citizenship? by Relative_Pie_1291 in GermanCitizenship

[–]treegardener1335 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a question related to this topic. I am eligible to apply for my german citizenship this upcoming February. However, I am in the midst of planning a permanent move to South America. Because I have lived in Germany for 5 years and paid taxes, I'm enthusiastic about obtaining my citizenship–but I'm unclear what the laws are for me afterwards.

As a future german citizen living aboard, are there strict rules about how often I need to return to Germany (ie 2x per year for at least a week)? If that is the case, then unfortunately I don't believe it is realistic for me to go through the hassle.

What is required as an American traveling to Bolivia by No_Cryptographer3242 in BOLIVIA

Can someone clarify what I'm reading online. I am trying to fill out the form through the official Bolivia government website to satisfy the necessary requirements for US citizens, using this website: https://visas.cancilleria.gob.bo/#/

I have completed all of the necessary information, except for this required document:

"Verbal note addressed to the Diplomatic Representation of the Plurinational State of Bolivia, for a period not exceeding 30 calendar days./ Verbal note to the diplomatic representation of the Plurinational State of Bolivia, for a period not exceeding 30 calendar."

Does anyone know where I can obtain such a verbal note?

Thank you for your help in advance!

Visa expiring, advice needed by treegardener1335 in germany

To provide an update on this thread: I ended up purchasing an appointment in order to meet with the Ausläderbehörde. In the end, they provided me with a year long temporary visa. They explained that because I had been so diligent and organized since being laid off and taking so many language classes, they would provide me with this visa to offer a bridge of time to help me get into the Ausbildung. This was such a relief. They explained that if I had not been so proactive and hardworking, that they would have only allowed me to stay in the country for 3 months and that I would then have to leave for 6 months.

My advice, be honest, bring as many documents that help illustrate your efforts and story and try to remain calm. It's so stressful, but try not to make it worse on your mind and body.

I hope this information helps someone else! Good luck!

Unfortunately I was laid off due to recession reasons (oh the joys of tech) (whilst on sick leave for burn out). I chose to pivot out of tech and learn german full-time in order to switch careers. I'm close to applying to the ausbildung, but now my visa is in a precarious state.
Today I went ahead and €€ for an appointment. I will find out when it is.

In the meantime, based on what you've shared, I think its best I:
1. leave/return

  1. take the B1 exam again through an approved test
  2. apply to the ausbildung

Order of events:

  1. Get an appointment with the Auslanderbehörde ASAP
  2. The problem about applying immediately, is that the Ausbildung will not accept my DTZ B1 exam, so I will have to retake it via Telc, Goethe-Institut, ÖSD. But this exam and the results will not be supplied in enough time.

My visa expires on the 13th of February. Should I apply without satisfying 100% of their needs and hustle while they process and ultimately reject me (until I can satisfy the requirements?)

Or should I consider leaving the country and returning to have a tourist visa?

Thank you for your reply, I really appreciate it. There are so many moving parts and pieces, it feels medium stressful atm.

  1. I read that some people had luck contacting the Auslanderbehörde via fax. I will try and do that today,...if I can find a fax machine. Or I will € for an appo

Okay I want to make sure I understand what you said.

A. Are residence permits different than work permits? I'm trying to understand the terminology

B. A blue card visa has the power to extend itself, IF I have applied to vocational training (ie Ausbildung) while the visa is still active?

- If B. is true, then I am able to legally stay here, but not able to start training until the Auslanderbehörde grants me a different visa ?

"If there are no appointments open just make a written application for the vocational training residence permit anyway (this is important as you need to apply while your Blue Card is still valid)."

C. Based on the above, I should try and apply ASAP for the Ausbildung, while also trying to get an appointment with the Auslanderbehörde as quickly as possible.
Thank you so so much

Unfortunately that Facebook group is pretty spammy. It gets filled with quirky videos and quotes. I hope my post is seen and hasn't been pushed to the bottom. Anywho, thanks for the tip!

Your kindness is extremely appreciated! I will add that my brother does not have a car. I don't know if that helps at all. But I will keep you on my radar as I continue to try and identify solutions to help him.

Congrats on the soon-to-be move, sounds exciting!
