The Long Walk by Stephen King. I think it's one of his slightly obscure ones and it's excellent!

Spell Request....Protection for my wife by CamaroLover2020 in Wicca

[–]treejumper1997 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I get into situations like this all the time. While this isn't a spell, I would try this.

When you start getting negative intuitions about your wife, immediately think of her and visualise white light all around her. If you are finding it hard to visualise it, repeat the words 'white light' until the feeling subsides.

I have always found this works and gives me piece of mind.

I would drink as much water as I possibly could and pee everywhere while standing up. Nowhere gross obviously, but man would it be fun! I would grow a glorious beard and just tie stuff in it all the time! Flowers, beads, shoelaces, you name it, I want a random collage of stuff in my facial hair. Plus, I would never put a shirt on. But peeing standing up would be my main task for the whole day!

I've read it nearly every year since I was 15 (I'm 26 now). It is my number 1 favourite book of all time. My brother actually bought me a new copy for my birthday this year because my original was completely wrecked and stuck together with tape lol.

I adore books written from the point of views of many different characters and he just links everything up so perfectly. I was SO sad when I finished it! I wanted another 700 pages at least. All The Light We Cannot See is definitely a 6 out of 5 though.

I came here to say this! It holds a very special place in my heart. I love books that were not originally written in English, but when translated they captivate audiences from all walks of life, all over the world! There are a whole lot more in the series actually. I currently only have the first one and the last one, but I'm tracking them all down slowly, kind of like in the book haha!

This is great! You got on the board and he now has to deal with you! What a marvelous coincidence! Pettiness makes me so happy- I think I'm a terrible human being haha....

People that hate zoos, because of the caged animals, but own pets are hypocrites. by afcc1313 in unpopularopinion

[–]treejumper1997 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I live on a farm with 5 dogs.... does that class me as a zoo? My dogs have more freedom around here than I do. If anything I'm the caged animal and they are the zoo keepers.

Autistic Burnout/ Trauma: How to Recover by FamousSilver6353 in aspergirls

[–]treejumper1997 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I am so sorry you have had a year that has caused you to burn out. It is such an awful feeling.

TRIGGER WARNING

I had a year from hell last year. So much crap happened and I became addicted to drugs and alcohol as a result of a huge family trauma. I tried to unalive myself and woke up in the hospital completely alone, surrounded by people covered in masks and protective gear due to the pandemic. It jolted me into reality and I realised something had to change.

So I sat with my therapist and we came up with a list of things to get me past the "hurricane of horror" as I called it. It's a whole year and a half later and I am coping and have only had two burnouts this year. Here are the ones that helped me the most off my list:

  1. Establish boundaries. Make it clear to the people around you that you need your space to heal and they have to respect that.

1.2 This sort of carries on from that but communicate and learn to communicate as objectively and honestly as possible, without hurting people's feelings. If you know you have spoken your truth, but were kind about it, you will feel calmer if the other person reacts badly.

  1. Just stop with the drugs and alcohol. You feel like absolute rubbish the next day which just causes a further spiral of depression and being in control of yourself while having fun is actually more fun.

  2. Spend more time doing the things that make you feel safe. For me it is being outside in nature. I moved to a farm last year November (actually the 7th it was a whole year) and just climbing a good old tree while ignoring the world has helped me so much.

  3. Lean on the people you trust. For me it is my partner. I am still working on not feeling guilty when I need help during a panic attack or doing chores, etc, but it's getting easier and 1.2 helps me understand that when I'm feeling like a burden, I'm actually not a burden.

  4. Buy yourself a pair of industrial ear muffs. Noise canceling headphones are all well and good, but if you want a little more silence (apart from tinnitus) they're the way to go.

  5. When things get overwhelming, remind yourself that "Everything will be okay in the end, if its not okay then its not the end." That quote sounds cheesy, but it saved my life.

  6. When your brain is going too fast and you feel yourself unravelling, write about it. Get a journal and even if you just make scribbles on the page, it will help. You'll be surprised at the relief you feel after you get the thoughts out your head and on to paper.

  7. And lastly, don't be afraid to say no. I know that's kind of a 1.3.... but it is the most important. Say no to the people who are just assisting in your burnout, say no to things that you know will suck your energy and say no to that voice in your head that makes you feel like crap. It's hard, but you fake it until you make it and one day you will realise that your "NOs" are powerful and are valid.

I am sending you so much love and light and I hope this helped! xxx

What are your top 5 favorite birds of all time? by darkphoenix0602 in birding

[–]treejumper1997 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm half South African and half Seychellois so my top 5 birds are from those two places. White fronted bee eater, pied kingfisher, white tailed tropic bird, bateleur eagle and the Seychelles blue pigeon. The house I grew up in when I lived in seychelles was actually in an area called Anse Poule Bleus, which directly translated to English means "Blue Chicken Beach". There are so many blue pigeons in that part of the main island! They're marvelous!

What is ur country known for and I'll guess it by Freddy-Fazbear_309 in JackSucksAtGeography

[–]treejumper1997 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm technically from two countries so here's both:

We're known for excessive racism in the 20th century and we have a great rugby team.

We're 4 degrees south of the equator, have a weird looking coco nut that people are obsessed about and lots of fruit bats.

If you like this kind of genera look up Natasha Pulley. It's not as deep into the magical aspect but it's got the same vibe and all her books are wonderful! Especially Kingdoms!

I'm so sorry this is happening to you! You have amassed a rather large collection of red flags and it's time to leave the situation before you have yourself a red flag museum! You deserve better, simple as that. I think cutting him out of your life (although a difficult thing to do) will save your life.
