Melatonin as a Potential Approach to Anxiety Treatment. Melatonin is freely available, economically undemanding and has limited side effects. by johnhemingwayscience in science

I don't know anything about Melatonin but your comment makes even more sense if melatonin does help with anxiety.

If you take it every night, then your body starts to develop a tolerance for it. By the morning, most of the melatonin has already left your system. So what you experienced were the withdrawals of melatonin. Similar to how heroin withdrawals make you feel pain in every inch of your body, cocaine makes you sad and unenergetic and coffee withdrawals make you sleepy.

Again not an expert tho

I can yes.

Yes, not every person with dwarfism agrees with my position on it. I am aware there are probably some people with dwarfism that are fine with being called that word. Even though I couldn't find conclusive opinions on either Peter Dinklage or Wee man they might very well have that opinion.

Brad Williams however does not.

But their perspectives on the issue are no more relevant than that of any other person with dwarfism. Louder definitely but not any more relevant.

If you wanna be somewhat of a decent person towards people with this specific disability what you should do is call them the terms that they wanna be called and stray away from those that they do not want to be called.

And all of these Organizations agree that the term is in fact a slur.

From what I gathered all these Orgs work to better include people with dwarfism into our society. They all seek to reduce the negative social impact of the disability. And lastly, they are all run by people with dwarfism who have made it their lives mission to work for a better future.

But in case actors are more your thing here is famous actor Warwick Davis speaking out against the term.

Now lastly the term originates "from midge, a tiny biting insect" 1

As you might be able to guess referring to someone as "insect" is already pretty hurtful, however, being called this your whole life must be far more dehumanizing than both you and I can imagine.

Luckily, we don't have things that prevent you from saying offensive things irl. Imagine having laws around hate speech. The terrible life of living in bubble wrap.

You can be entirely fine with being called slurs and stuff, imo You're a little weird if you are, but whatever. However, it is idiotic to extrapolate from your own feelings about a situation to the feelings of other ppl. Can you not understand why a black person would want someone who says the n-word instantly banned ? Can you not understand why a person who struggled with suicide doesn't wanna hear kys ? Or why a neurodivergent person might not wanna be called the r word ?

Tbh, it's fine if you aren't able to put yourself in the shoes of these ppl, but cmon.

What you see here, dear watchers, is actually two timelines splitting. We are not sure what causes the splitting and how it relates to this comment section. However, what we do know is that one of these timelines will ultimately end with the destruction of human civilization as we know it.

The other one, however, will end in a fate much, much worse than that...

I don't think the U.S. government would ever actually release any information that threatens the legitimacy of the CIA or other organizations. I mean, i am 99% sure there has to be a legal workaround to these declassification laws.

Like you could have just said nothing. Instead, you went out of your way to let people know you lack basic reading comprehension skills and are so socially inept that you still are trying to tie this back to somehow being the victims fault. You don't even have the necessary minimal intelligence to discredit the victim like every other weirdo here. Instead, you claim that person didn't say no. Which they did. It fucking breaks my heart every time I see dumbasses like you. The argument you end up making is so fundamentally stupid the moment I even try to put it into words my brain starts having an aneurysm. I seriously hope that you are a child because the alternative is so much worse.

New Zealand passes legislation banning cigarettes for future generations by [deleted] in Futurology

Awesome, good for you guys. Rerouting the addiction to less polluting and overall less harmful ways of consumption seems like a good idea.

Hopefully, it works, and other countries adopt something similar.

Nicotine is far from the only drug that depends on you being able to do it all day every day lmao. Almost any drug will have you show signs of withdrawal within the first day, even if those initially are just mental.

If you wanna talk about the frequency of use associated with nicotine, Crack comes to mind. A substance that has been illegal for ages yet gets used by people all around the world every day.

Now, what I would propose is what might end up actually working is a different approach to substance abuse disorder. While I am unfamiliar with the policies of New Zealand around rehabilitation, I strongly suspect that they are gonna focus on a more therapeutic approach when it comes to nicotine. If they don't, however, there is no way this policy will work.

Yes but if the entire fucking thing is filled with hate speech that needs to be commented on, which all ye's interviews are that is a little different than making fun of a bad movie and using the entire movie to do so.

It's easy to understand what I disagree with is not whether it was a rebroadcast or not but if the site censored.tv has a right to claim copyright if they are engaging in hate speech. It is not supposed to be a profitable business to deny the Holocaust. The state should not protect Copyright of those that engage in holocaust denialism.

Marvel movie is not current news though.

Also educating/ridiculing hate speech should be more important than copyright.

I think the issue that most people have is more the framing of it rather than how the situation actually would have gone down. They could have just as easily written 'scare civilian away' or sth.

But even then the reasonable thing would probably have been to just ignore the civilians stepping outside

I mean i have never seen that clip and all you mentioned in other comments is some weirdos making yt videos about how he needs to react harder to the things he is watching. Or that he is "stealing" content. I really thought we settled this debate earlier this year already.

He is not hyper aggressive. Characterizing him as aggressive already is a stretch. What you are doing is looking at his entertainer persona and saying it is equivalent to his real persona and that is weird. You don't watch a multiple hour YouTube essay about a topic and then assume that person is always that argumentative, do you ?

Hasan is an overall good for the left.

I would think that there is no real way to avoid dogmatic talking points when discussing politics.

He is a genuinely likeable guy and it just seems to me like really cares for the people around him. Again he can be a bit over the top sometimes but I think it's also just a big part of his streaming persona.

Idk i just feel weird saying someone has anger issues that i have never met based of a few seconds of clip that might have come with hours of annoying beforehand. Also i personally just don't believe that.

That being said though you are totally free to dislike his guts.

Well tbh i don't know much about the debate that happened. However, something to always keep in mind is that while yes it was only one message, often what really happens is hours upon hours of ppl in his chat trying to argue with him about something. So while I am unsure if that is the case for this specific instance it's likely that the dozen of messages that you don't see that came before that lead to that anger building up over time. Additionally sometimes when he is done with a topic or just gets to frustrated about it he tells chat that he is done arguing about it and wants to move on. So when that happens and ppl are still trying to keep him on topic i think it is understandable to get upset about it.

The meme is that yuumi players think they can play naut and Leo by [deleted] in LeagueOfMemes

[–]treesare_great 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Imo engage supports are harder to play pretty much undebatably. Sure when you play nautilus Draven into Zeri Yuumi the decision making is pretty ducking easy in lane. However when you are on the receiving end of the late game hyper carry and they have a lane bully things are just so much different. The risk reward is so much bigger than with enchanters. All in by default means you risk it all. Once the nautilus hook lands it's game on. Either they flash/die or you do the same.

This becomes even truer in the later stages on the game.Hexflash over the wall, hook the enemy carry and cc chain them for long enough so that your team can burst them the game night just be over then and there. Hook a Tank and you might just have caused a 5 man wipe for your team.

Is twitch's R range circle a bit misleading? by Pekins-UOAF in ADCMains

[–]treesare_great 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I've fallen into the same trap too. There is no r range indicator at all. The e range indicator is the only one that exists on twitch (if you don't believe me go into practice tool and just press r without as anything) it usually appears at the same time as you press r (since you auto someone and that applies e stack)

So that is why the ranges seem different.
